The episode names I recorded can be found at the link at the end of the article

[edit]

The source for the episode names is given in the link at the end of the article. If you go to that link you will find another link to this page that has the episode names. Certainly, if the link that is already there is considered appropriate, the link to the episode names given at that link should be considered an appropriate cite.

When I recorded the series the first time, these episode names were given as I stated them in the local public television guide that we received as members of KLRU-TV. I wrote them down at the time, and they agree with the link above, so I have every reason to believe that it is reliable. I realize that this information is not a citation, but a corroboration. Please see my edit summary. That is not an official website. Please see this link - www.sitcom.co.uk/manor_born/episodes.shtml - which says "Note: The titles used in this guide are the un-official working titles. Originally the episodes didn't have titles; some were added at a later date but they don't usually appear on the screen at the beginning of any episode." That means we can't add them as we can't say unofficial titles are official titles.--UpDown (talk) 07:16, 17 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Fair enough. I wasn't aware that these titles were unofficial. It seemed to me that the titles I got from the PBS rebroadcast were "official" since they were published at the time of broadcast in the U.S. many years ago and agreed exactly with the titles from the site cited at the end of the article.
Would it be acceptable to include a second link in the off-site links at the end of the article (this one), labeled something like "list of unofficial working titles at British TV Comedy"? I find calling these "Episode n" to be very uninformative. I certainly don't call them that in my DVD database...I'd never find what I wanted!
Alternatively, one might include, clearly labelled, an unofficial working title in the body of the description of each episode.
I'll leave it to you to decide which, if any, of these might be acceptable, and if so, to implement it. I would appreciate a note here with your decision, so I'll know the outcome. Bill Jefferys (talk) 14:29, 17 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
This isn't the only article to say "Episode One" etc, many programmes don't have titles. Is not that link (www.phill.co.uk/ etc) listed in the external links anyway - if so I think that's enough?--UpDown (talk) 07:26, 18 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
It's there, but you have to look for it. I just was thinking that having the link in the article would be a convenience to the reader, as well as alerting the reader to the fact that there were some informal working titles (which are easier to remember). What do you think? Bill Jefferys (talk) 13:54, 18 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
