Titles
[edit]why do the light novels have a title option if they repeat the same title?Blue Pumpkin Pie (talk) 05:50, 26 February 2019 (UTC)
- @Blue Pumpkin Pie:Are you talking about something like this?
{{Graphic novel list
| VolumeNumber = 1
| OriginalTitle = Tate No Yūsha No Nariagari, Vol.1 (盾の勇者の成り上がり 1)
| TranslitTitle = The Rising of the Shield Hero Vol. 1
}}

- Yes, why are we filling out title parameters if theyre the same title?Blue Pumpkin Pie (talk) 07:02, 26 February 2019 (UTC)
- Well the titles of novel volumes are same as they have no specific titles. For example The Rising of the Shield Hero volume 1 has no specific title so we write it as The Rising of the Shield Hero Vol. 1. Hope this helps. Sincerely, Masum Reza☎ 07:13, 26 February 2019 (UTC)
- we should remove them if they dont have a specific title.Blue Pumpkin Pie (talk) 07:28, 26 February 2019 (UTC)
- No we shouldn't that's how the template works. Sincerely, Masum Reza☎ 07:30, 26 February 2019 (UTC)

The titles are optional. if we remove then, the template still works. i will remove them just to prove it.Blue Pumpkin Pie (talk) 07:36, 26 February 2019 (UTC)
- Please do not make test edits. It is a violation of Wikipedia rules. Sincerely, Masum Reza☎ 07:48, 26 February 2019 (UTC)
- I'm not testing it. i'm proving it to you. Its a legitimate edit. You have no explained why we should keep the title parameters if there is no changes in the title.Blue Pumpkin Pie (talk) 08:38, 26 February 2019 (UTC)
- Those items are optional. Even if those were taken out you would have just the base template showing 1 to whatever number and the isbn's. Wouldn't work the same if it was changed into some thing like at Death March to the Parallel World Rhapsody? (The titles are displayed when you look/ hover on it. When using the <ref></ref>?) It will still work both ways. Tainted-wingsz (talk) 15:22, 26 February 2019 (UTC)
- Still I think those parameters are useful for showing Kanji, Romaji and English titles. Sincerely, Masum Reza☎ 16:43, 26 February 2019 (UTC)
- This version;
No. | Original release date | Original ISBN | English release date | English ISBN |
---|---|---|---|---|
1 | August 22, 2013[1] | 978-4840152754 | September 15, 2015[2] | 978-1-935548-72-0 |
- Or what-not? Tainted-wingsz (talk) 17:18, 26 February 2019 (UTC)
- Also the kanji and romaji would only repeat and the only thing that's changing is the number. If it does not have another or different title name, then take it out. Tainted-wingsz (talk) 17:34, 26 February 2019 (UTC)
- Agreed with Tainted-wingz. The titles all repeat, if they don't have a specific title, then they should be removed. the manga and other light novel series don't do this. i'm having trouble finding the logic in your reasoning.Blue Pumpkin Pie (talk) 20:35, 26 February 2019 (UTC)
- If the main concern is the Kanji and Romanji, then that's already included in The Rising of the Shield Hero article. they're linked.Blue Pumpkin Pie (talk) 20:42, 26 February 2019 (UTC)
- Ah? My vote is a yes. To get rid of it. Then at first, I thought you can just add that extra stuff in the "ref" instead. Then get rid of the item;
|OriginalTitle=
and|TranslitTitle=
(The one that's sitting on the same line with|VolumeNumber=
) then substitute it and put it in the example ref. By using;|script-title=
and|trans-title=
. Or leave it as it is. (With-out using neither of them.) Tainted-wingsz (talk) 21:24, 26 February 2019 (UTC)

In this case, I would agree with Blue Pumpkin Pie and Tainted-wingsz. These aren't really titles like what you'd find in something like List of Monogatari novels, they're just the title of the series and the volume number, so it's simply repetitive to list them over and over again. If a volume was released that had a separate subtitle, kinda like what is done at List of Spice and Wolf light novels (like volumes 7, 8, 9), then those should be included, but the series' title can be left out.--十八 04:48, 27 February 2019 (UTC) Is this enough consensus to remove the titles?Blue Pumpkin Pie (talk) 15:05, 28 February 2019 (UTC)
- Ok you win. I apologise for my behaviour. Sincerely, Masum Reza☎ 17:24, 28 February 2019 (UTC)

[edit]There is a new web novel out which is called Shin Yari no Yuusha no Yarinaoshi (The True Reprise of the Spear Hero). Will this be relevant to this list? --Goroth (talk) 22:36, 22 May 2020 (UTC)
