Include network in table

[edit]

In the table showing superbowl champions, I think it would be ideal to include which network was broadcasting the game. Broadcasters and their calls can improve how we remember games like these so their addition would be beneficial. Troykozun (talk) 17:52, 17 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Not done: This is already covered in a chart on the Super Bowl page. Derknasnort (talk) 05:14, 13 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Note 8 is not correct

[edit]

If I understand the note, it says that only two original AFL teams have won the Super Bowl. However, both the Broncos and Patriots have won several Super Bowls. Am I missing something? 100.16.145.77 (talk) 23:30, 28 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Yes. The note indicates that the Jets and Chiefs were not members of the NFL at the time they won the Super Bowl. While the Broncos and Patriots were members of the AFL, they didn't not win the Super Bowl until they joined the NFL. GreatCaesarsGhost 18:56, 29 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Someone please correct the years

[edit]

On the list of Super Bowl teams, the year of appearance that was displayed is always listed as the year before. (Eg. the Bengals vs Rams game was in 2022, NOT 2021; and the Chiefs vs Eagles game was in 2023 NOT 2022!) 2601:5C5:4380:FD80:E4A9:8393:8883:D974 (talk) 16:50, 10 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Not done: Those years are correct. The NFL plays in a season year, which means that even though the Super Bowl is technically played in February of 2022, it is for the season that started in 2021 which in turn makes it all recorded as the 2021 season. I recommend checking out the Super Bowl page that goes into depth on why this differentiation of years happens in NFL records. Derknasnort (talk) 05:09, 13 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Tampa Bay metadata for the "super bowl records by team" table has a "1" in the appearances sort metadata where it should be "2". Cheers.

Change: "01A-01W-17YA-17YW" To: "02A-01W-17YA-17YW" 2600:1700:45C:6010:C89E:7A06:9FF9:498D (talk) 18:22, 12 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

There's quite a bit of metadata that needs updated. The YW, YL, YA numbers in each sort need updated. I question whether they are actually needed. Jtrevor99 (talk) 19:13, 12 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
the appearances has been updated from 1 to 2 as requested Derknasnort (talk) 17:19, 14 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
So, can we close this request now? GrayStorm(Talk|Contributions) 19:32, 18 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I believe so Derknasnort (talk) 23:36, 18 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Teams with no Super Bowl Appearances or long active droughts

[edit]

Under New York Jets it doesn't note their AFC championship appearances as it does the rest. Greatergoodspectator (talk) 19:46, 14 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Not done: That's because the Jets have won a Super Bowl. As long as a team has appeared or won a Super Bowl, there is no point in mentioning their championship appearances. This would be the part of the list that is referring to "long active droughts". The only reason that teams have their NFC/AFC championship appearances mentioned is because they are teams that have never been to a Super Bowl, so that is the closest they have ever been to a Super Bowl. I suggest we should put the Pittsburgh Steelers next to the Boston/New England Patriots for the list of the most super bowl championship. Even though they both have 6 this page's diagram/graph of Super Bowl Champions shows the Patriots ahead of the Steelers for the most Super Bowl titles. It is misleading because it deprives the fact that they are tied with the most Super bowls. And instead makes people think the Patriots in the diagram have more championships than the Steelers, while the truth is the Steelers are tied with them for the most Lombardi trophies. All I'm saying is make them equal to each other in the graph/diagram of Most Super Bowl Championships by putting the Steelers next to the New England Patriots so people won't be misguided and think the Patriots have more success than Pittsburgh, while the truth is they are both of equal claim for the most Super Bowl Championships in the graph. I'm not saying put the Steelers ahead of New England but alongside them. I know you people can do it and put enough effort into making things right on this page.2603:6010:F003:C725:9C0:A008:8C30:5AF8 (talk) 19:17, 20 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Not done: As the text above the table indicates, it is first sorted by number of wins, and then by number of apperances. PianoDan (talk) 17:51, 21 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
