[edit]http://musicchapel.org/vladyslava-luchenko-violin/ mentions a "Stradivarius Piatti – 1717 kindly lent by Michael Guttman Foundation" to musician Vladyslava Luchenko. I didn't find a corresponding pair of name and year for a violin in the list, perhaps it should be added? Bettelorden (talk) 09:28, 19 June 2016 (UTC)
The edit at 4:19 on 11 October 2009 is not correct. The Canada Arts Council has in their instrument bank a 1729 Guarneri del Gesu currently on loan to Nikki Chooi. This instrument is not a Stradivarius (it is a Guarneri del Gesu). Perhaps there is some confusion over a Strad made in 1729 that goers by the nickname "Guarneri," but more likely this particular entry should be deleted altogether. In any case, I have not undone the edit, as I leave it up to the page's creator to look into this. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 137.122.14.20 (talk) 17:43, 13 October 2009 (UTC)
There is a tenor viola by Antonio Stradivari in the Department of Musical Instruments at the Galleria dell'Accademia in Florence (it's mentioned here: http://www.polomuseale.firenze.it/english/accademia/visita/sala.asp?idSala=183). Is this the same instrument as the Tuscan-Medici viola that's listed as being on loan to the US Library of Congress? 91.105.243.108 (talk) 11:49, 11 April 2010 (UTC)
Blondel de Gagny sale 1776
[edit]I note the Stradivarius violin in the sale of the connoisseur of paintings and works of art Augustin Blondel de Gagny, lot 1139, noted by Louis Clément de Ris, Les Amateurs d’Autrefois, vol. I Paris, 1877:350, as bought by "Paillet". If this relates to a known instrument, a footnote added at Augustin Blondel de Gagny would improve that article, and I'd be very delighted.--Wetman (talk) 07:53, 30 May 2010 (UTC)
David Garrett's 1716 Stradivarius
[edit]On BBC Breakfast (16th April 2014) the violinist David Garrett revealed his current main violin is a 1716 Stradivarius that he owns outright and that it was sold to him by a fan of his for "a very good price". Does anyone know which 1716 violin this would be? 82.71.1.109 (talk) 12:19, 7 May 2014 (UTC)
Ex-strauss
[edit]Clala Jumi Kang Studied at the Lübeck University of Music under Prof. Zakhar Bron. She was a famous child prodigy who performed with the Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra, the Hamburg Symphony Orchestra, and the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra since the age of 5. At 9 she recorded Beethoven’s Triple Concerto and a solo programme for the Teldek label. When she was 11, she suffered a serious injury to her hand and was unable to play the violin for several years. Subsequently she studied at the Korean National University of Arts under Prof. Nam-Yun Kim and was a prize winner in several international violin competitions: in Seoul (2009, first prize), in Hannover (2009, second prize), and in Sendai (2010, first prize). In 2010 she won the International Violin Competition of Indianapolis and also took five special prizes. She performs all over the world and plays with the most accomplished orchestras. In 2011 her solo album of violin pieces Modern Solo was released by Decca. She plays the violin 'Ex-Strauss', made by Antonio Stradivarius in 1708, generously on loan from Samsung Cultural Foundation of Korea since 2015.

Ex-Vieuxtemps
[edit]In 2017 Isabelle Faust recorded César Franck's sonata in A with the ex-Vieuxtemps (1710), although on other recordings from the same period she uses her usual Sleeping Beauty (1704), so I don't know whether she has it permanently on loan. 62.205.87.53 (talk) 02:23, 8 February 2019 (UTC)

[edit]The ex Woolhouse violin (1720) played by Rudolf Koelman seems to be in the possession of a Guadagnini Foundation based in Stuttgart now. So there must have been previous owners after Woolhouse's death in 1893. --Hodsha (talk) 17:13, 8 June 2022 (UTC)

Is there a reliable source for the loan of the Regent to TwoSetViolin?
[edit]The Regent (1708) is listed as being on loan to Brett Yang and Eddy Chen, known from the YouTube channel TwoSetViolin. However, the reference for this is their own video. In that video they also claim to have a second Strad on loan, which is not listed here, and which they refer to as the Empress Caterina (1708). Because their YouTube channel is a mix of serious and humorous content, I don't think WP should take these claims at face value. 1738
[edit]I was told his son made two, and wanted to do something other than make instruments. There was supposed to be a 1736 that was found and one marked 1738. Can you confirm this. Sarasate violins
[edit]There are 3 entries for Sarasate's violins:
1) Sarasate: 1724
2) Boissier-Sarasate: 1690
3) Boissier-Sarasate - 1713
Is the "Boissier-Sarasate: 1690" correct, or is it a wrong duplicate?
As far as i know, the "Boissier-Sarasate - 1713" was indeed donated to the Real Conservatorio Superior de Música after Sarasate died. Gor1995 (talk) 15:49, 2 November 2023 (UTC)
