[edit]I have purposefully not link to their catalog as to maintain the "integrity" of wikipedia and not make it look like I am acting as their marketing agent. The only linking I have done is linking to other articles from within wikipedia. This list is not any different (perhaps than our list serves an educational aspect) than shows documented on this sphere, entire seasons of Weeds and MTV reality shows are allowed, why not an exhaustive list of a small independent publishing organization? I would appreciate that you do not propose this page to be deleted again. Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Seergenius (talk • contribs) 02:35, 20 July 2011 (UTC)
- The difference is that Weeds and the like are a little more finite in scope. If this publishing organization has only printed 20–30 books, we may need to consider whether it's a notable company for Wikipedia purposes and should have an article at all. Otherwise, I'm thinking the better approach is that the notable books should be in Category:South End Press books, rather than try to keep this list complete. —C.Fred (talk) 02:38, 20 July 2011 (UTC)
Are you asking if this COLLECTIVE is notable and worth being in wikipedia? You have never heard of Noam Chomsky? Are you kidding? Weeds is finite in scope? There are more than 70 episodes. Sorry, I am having a communication breakdown with you since you proposed a deletion prior to talking with me. Seergenius (talk)Seergenius —Preceding undated comment added 02:43, 20 July 2011 (UTC).
- I was not the editor who proposed deletion. I could have nominated the list for deletion after you challenged the speedy deletion; however, I invited you to start discussion here before deleting the article.
- I'm not clear how Chomsky is relevant to this article; he's not mentioned as the author of any of the books, contrary to what the South End Press article says. Unless, as I suspected, the list is incomplete, and there are far more SEP books that are currently listed here.
- And yes, 70 episodes is finite and manageable. Also, the episodes are in a sequence, so a list of the episodes makes sense and is useful: it helps to see the sequence of episodes, airdates in a column beside episodes, etc. I don't see the same sequentialness with the SEP books; that's why I suggested that the information could be better presented with a category for the books instead of a list. —C.Fred (talk) 02:55, 20 July 2011 (UTC)
First of all, check The fateful triangle on the press wiki page, you'll find him there. Additionally, we have Cornell West, bell hooks and Vandana Shiva. Is your only beef that I place them like http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer_films ? You want a chronological ordered booklist? Help me understand this category thing as I read the page all I see is lines. Seergenius (talk) 03:00, 20 July 2011 (UTC)seergenius
