For expansion - please use this table format
[edit]I have decided to rather make this a sortable table - please use this as a template
801 to 804
[edit]Springbok Number | Name | Position | Debut date | Debut opposition | Caps | Total Points | Tries | Con | Pen | Drop |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
801 | Jongi Nokwe | 11 | 2008 | ? | 5 | 5 | 5 | 5 | 0 | 0 |
802 | Heinrich Brüssouw | 6 | England? | 5 | 5 | 1 | 0 | 0 | 0 | |
803 | Morne Steyn | 10 | July 2008 | New Zealand | 5 | 59 | 1 | ? | ? | 0 |
Haven't quite decided how to deal with players playing tests in multiple positions yet, while retaining the functionality of the sort function. One option is to name all the positions in the position box, listing the most common or well-known one first. Another option is to make a seperate entry for each position the player held, keeping all the other information the same, including Springbok number, but changing the position each time. Not crazy about the last one, but it would still preserve the sort function. For example if you sort by position and look for nr 10 there would be an entry for Frans Steyn, but as you scroll down to nr 15 there would be another entry for him - each with the same points-tally etc. I guess there has to be a better solution - any table-experts have it...? Dates vs numbers
[edit]At the moment the list is split into "hundreds", according to player numbers. The All Black page does the same. Would it rather not make more sense to split it into "year groups" like the England page? Sahmejil (talk) 10:11, 25 October 2009 (UTC)
Needs details of this player.--MacRusgail (talk) 20:45, 20 February 2010 (UTC)
Disambiguation?
[edit]How does one disambiguate when names are entered in this format? An article has now been created on a different Bill Zeller. Yngvadottir (talk) 23:08, 22 January 2011 (UTC)
- Usually as Bill Zeller (rugby union) or Bill Zeller (rugby player). You can dab as Bill Zeller (rugby) but that usually applies to someone who's played both versions of the code. Tassedethe (talk) 00:32, 23 January 2011 (UTC)
Johan [le] Roux
[edit]Just wondering: Are Johan Roux and Johan le Roux, listed as numbers 607 and 608, really two different people? — Sebastian 15:00, 13 August 2012 (UTC)
- Seems so. Johan le Roux vs Johan Roux. Tassedethe (talk) 15:04, 13 August 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks for the quick reply. I was wondering how to make it clear in the list that that isn't a mistake; for now I think it may be best to just add your two references there. — Sebastian 03:46, 27 August 2012 (UTC)
Women Springboks
[edit]This section has been incomplete and dormant for quite a while now, and does not contribute to the complete status of the page. I have taken the liberty to move it here to the talk page where it can be expanded until it is in a publishable format and size.
Perhaps its own page should also be considered? : "
Female
[edit]South Africa first fielded a women's rugby unionteam in 2004. Since then many players have represented the Springboks, either by playing in a test match or touring with the national side.
Number | Name | Test Debut | Opposition | Caps | Total Points | Tries | Cons | Pens | Drops |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
1 | Nomsebenzi Tsotsobe | 29 May 2004 | Wales |
