Fixup
[edit]I added a dynamic list tag, which helps explain additions, and hidden text in each editable section. I would like to see the word "Shi'a" removed from the individual listings, as its redundant. also, we need to delink the multiple links for words like poet, iraqi, etc. one link in its first appearance is sufficient. ive started to add references, though i will not be able to check for references for all the redlinked names. i will NOT remove redlinked names immediately, to give other editors, esp. any editor who added such a name, to find references. eventually, though, all redlinked names without references for notability and shi'a belief/affiliation will be removed, as is standard practice on WP lists.Mercurywoodrose (talk) 15:42, 3 October 2009 (UTC)
Goethe
[edit]I removed Goethe's name from this list. the link to his sufi inspired work doesnt indicate conversion, and the image linked to is impossible to use as proof of his conversion here (we would need an academic translation showing it is irrefutable proof that he converted). the discussion at Goethe's article talk page shows consensus for him not having converted, though he was obviously inspired by Islam the writings associated with it. Understand that i would welcome any sourced proof of his conversion, i have no bias either way, and personally am fascinated by his interest in islam, which i didnt know before reading it here. Benazir Bhutto
[edit]there was a question of her shia faith, after her name here. her main article implies she is shia, but another editor has said she practiced as a sunni, per her mothers religion. until we have sources, i have removed the comment from this article, kept her name here, and have not changed the main article. i really dont know, and am not going to search for sources, but i of course welcome any sources that show she was not shia (or was). if she was not shia, and it can be shown, just add a source to the main article, after discussing it at the talk page, and remove her name from this list if the source is agreed to be reliable. In an interview she said "Zardari is Shia but I am not", probably in the West, in the country she didn't want to loose her Shia voters and never claimed that she is not a Shia, but in some interview in the western media she has said this. ([Baabi_99])
- great, just provide a reference.Mercurywoodrose (talk) 06:21, 12 October 2010 (UTC)
Philippe Senderos
[edit]Having proclaimed Islamic faith according to numerous sources, would it not be befitting to add his name to the list, albeit that he may not be a political/historical/religious figure? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.35.166.38 (talk) 13:37, 23 June 2012 (UTC)
