Question

[edit]

Is this really notable in its current form? No other place in the world, as far as I know, has a Wikipedia article listing local television series that merely happen to be based on imported formats. If anything, this should be a list of programs that air in Quebec as straight dubs of the original series, such as Les Feux de l'amour or Les Simpson, not a list of Quebec adaptations of internationally franchised formats. I think this list should be merged with List of Quebec television series. Although there is no precedent, there seems to be informative value in this list as long as the inspiration for each show is attributed. Dubs are less unique and take less effort than adapted series: compare producing a French version of The Simpsons to dubbing it. –Pomte 23:23, 8 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
The encyclopedic value, I think, is in having somewhere on Wikipedia that we can list the fact that the French-dubbed version of The Simpsons was called Les Simpson. There's obviously no value in having a separate article for Les Simpson, but I think there is some value in having a place to list that piece of information. YMMV, I guess.
