This list has an awfully high number of redlinked and unlinked names, which should be weeded out. Lists like these should not include people who think they're notable. PKT(alk) 13:42, 18 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

As the user pointed out above last year, the list had an incredible number of redlinks/blacktext. It's a list of notable alumni. "Notable" is a technical term on Wikipedia that doesn't equate to people someone may think are important or accomplished. It means they have been the subject of significant media coverage in reliable secondary sources independent of the subject and thus fit to be the subject of an article on Wikipedia. The vast majority of the time, these lists are thus to be populated with people who have Wikipedia articles (this page explains it pretty well). The absolute bare minimum is to cite sources showing both their notability and their belonging on the list (but, again, check the linked pages because a link to a school page, stats book, etc. is not sufficient). --— Rhododendrites talk16:18, 19 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
