French Vol. 4 DVD

This has just been released with the folowing episodes:

  • Grenouilles, vers et papillons (Frogs And Worms And Butterflies)
  • La cabane dans l’arbre (The Tree House)
  • Monsieur l’épouvantail (Mister Scarecrow)
  • La mare aux petits bateaux (The Boat Pond)
  • Jour de brume (Foggy Day)
  • Les petites bêtes (Tiny Creatures)
  • Une promenade à vélo (The cycle ride)
  • Le pique nique (Picnic)
  • Les bulles (Bubbles)
  • Vive le camping (School Camp)

Unlike the first French DVD (and similar to the only German DVD), it doesn't directly match any of the UK releases, so I'm not sure the best way to incorporate the information, if at all. Nick Cooper (talk) 10:27, 11 May 2009 (UTC)

Cartoons

87.114.154.48 (talk)Why did you add the section "Cartoons (1946-1998)"? If no information is in the section soon, I will delete the section.87.114.154.48 (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 17:00, 2 November 2009 (UTC).

87.114.154.48 (talk) 10:07, 4 November 2009 (UTC) I have removed the section 'Cartoons (1946-1998)' 87.114.154.48 (talk) 10:07, 4 November 2009 (UTC)

Unreleased episodes

I've yet again had to deleted a spurious title for the DVD of the as yet unreleased episode. Ironically, sites like Play.com are currently taking pre-orders for the 13th DVD under the title of Santa's Grotto.... Nick Cooper (talk) 13:00, 13 August 2010 (UTC)

Spurious episode numbers

I deleted these, because they are misleading, as they did not indicate the order the episodes were first transmitted in, which is the common usage of such numbering. For example, the most recent DVD, the first volume for Series 3, contains the episode shown thirteenth, followed by the nine is their original transmission order. We should endeavour to ascertain the original transmission dates for the previous episodes. Nick Cooper (talk) 12:29, 29 November 2009 (UTC)

Spurious and misleading episode numbers deleted again, as above. Nick Cooper (talk) 12:48, 26 August 2010 (UTC)

Confirmation of next DVD release

The BBFC classification page here confirms the episodes, and also that the first two are 5 minutes each. Nick Cooper (talk) 12:45, 27 September 2010 (UTC)

Unreleased episode table

I've deleted the last two empty rows from the tables, as it's clear that the recently released batch of thirteen episodes comprises the eleven that have been/are to be shown on Five at the moment, along with the two Xmas episodes, which will no doubt appear in December. Nick Cooper (talk) 13:06, 28 September 2010 (UTC)

Kwerty edit of 5 September 2010, re Unreleased / New Episodes 2010, etc

I’ve deleted the episode “Dicky Dinosaur” (original airdate 1 November 2010 !?) from the list of unreleased episodes, as I cannot find any confirmation that it (yet?) exists. I suppose it’s just possible that it does, and will show up as a new episode at some time, but the makers don’t usually provide any early announcement of new episodes: you just have to watch out for them in the guides to forthcoming programs!

I’ve added a grid for the forthcoming “Santa’s Grotto” DVD (release date 25 October 2010 according to all the main sellers of such items), allowing 10 lines for the episode list as the cover shown says “Features 10 fun packed piggy tales”. Also, following what seems to be usual practice, I’ve assumed that the first episode on the DVD will be titled “Santa’s Grotto”, though we don’t know yet when it will be first be shown on TV. We can fill the rest in when we know exactly what episodes are to be included, and their order. Presumably any new episodes being included on the DVD will be first broadcast prior to the DVD release date?

“Digiguide” is indicating that there are two new episodes (“Freddy Fox” and “Whistling”) showing on Five on the 24th September at 8.15 a.m. and 8.25 a.m., presumably to be followed on later (weekdays?) by further new episodes. I’ve extended the unreleased episode list to allow for 13 new episodes in this tranche?! (see http://library.digiguide.com/lib/programmenextshowing/Peppa+Pig-223896 - valid at time of submission!) episode entitled 'Mr foxs van' aired 1 november 2010 on nick jr so this could be one of the two remaining in block of 13? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 94.169.239.27 (talk) 14:46, 1 November 2010 (UTC)

We may be able to assume that at least one of the last two episodes if the Santa's Grotto of the DVD title, although I expect we won't see it on TV until Christmas. Lookign at the plot summary for Miss Rabbit's Day Off and the reference to "her sister," perhaps we're finally going to get a resolution to the Miss Rabbit/Mummy Rabbit question! Nick Cooper (talk) 11:48, 12 September 2010 (UTC)
E1 Entertainment say they've completed the production of the 52 Series 3 episodes, and are working on the first 26 of Series 4! Kwerty (talk) 18:37, 12 September 2010 (UTC)

"Potato City" DVD

The episode lists I've found (e.g. ToysRUs, W H Smith, The Hut) all indicate that the 1st episode on the DVD is a new one (i.e. Potato City"), and the following nine are the first 9 episodes from the current series 3 unreleased list (in that order). This could be a bit problematic, as we're currently listing and numbering the DVD's in groups by series, and this one appears to be a crossover (assuming "Potato City" is a series 4 episode?). Any thoughts as to how best to deal with this? Kwerty (talk) 04:02, 11 February 2011 (UTC)

I can't help but feel that we've painted ourselves into a corner by basing the listing on the DVDs. It was probably a good idea early on, when the releases were more or less sequential, but doesn't work so well now that episodes are being re-ordered so dratsically, and even pre-empted on DVD before TV transmission. Perhaps the best idea would be to go for the more usual TV episode list format of series and transmission order, and deal with the DVDs separately, simply as lists of the episode titles. I'm in two minds about whether we actually need the plot synopses, though. Most seem to be lifted from Five or Nick Jr listings, which is "problematic," to say the least. Nick Cooper (talk) 10:05, 11 February 2011 (UTC)
I like the word "dratsically" - it seems to fit quite nicely in the context! I agree with your thinking on having a (main) episode list with a separate dvd list (cross-referenced?), as this is my preference as well. I think the (short) synopses might as well stay as they're already present; they don't need to be that detailed - more to give a flavour of the content. There is a list of episodes with original airdates on http://tv.msn.com/tv/series-episodes/peppa-pig/?si=201&ipp=40 which might be helpful - I've been looking at it on and off for a while now trying to put it into context, and I'm rather suspicious of its overall accuracy (and also if it's UK or US based, or a mixture!). There are also quite a few other episode lists around, with a fair amount of variation, and these need to be considered as well (could be fun getting a consensus!?). Kwerty (talk) 14:10, 11 February 2011 (UTC)
LOL! Damn my tpying! I'll see about cross-referencing the lists with the contemporary Radio Times - I know they don't go into much detail for daytime programming these days, but we might be lucky further back. Nick Cooper (talk) 14:54, 11 February 2011 (UTC)
The BBFC [http://www.bbfc.co.uk/AVV277415 certified the DVD on 3 Marc, so I'll change the listings to reflect the content. Nick Cooper (talk) 19:05, 7 March 2011 (UTC)
Someone added a description of the "Potato City" episode of "Granny Pig tells Peppa and George a story about Potato City". Is this not just made up, like the countless other spam entries that you have both been diligently removing? My guess, from looking at the DVD cover, is that Peppa is going to a theme park called Potato City, no doubt with Mr. Potato in attendance as well, and nicely timed to coincide with the opening of Peppa Pig World at Paulton's Park. But my guess is just that, and I believe the episode description should be blanked out until we know something more definite. Darren1090 (talk) 22:44, 29 March 2011 (UTC)
You're probably right - I can't find any corroberation for this description (or of the suggested first broadcast date either, for that matter)Kwerty (talk) 02:46, 4 April 2011 (UTC)

Episode / DVD listings

Where I'm at (so far)!

I’m still looking at the “best” way of re-jigging the episode / dvd lists, and quite like the style of the “Thomas and Friends” listings (with a bit of adaptation).

Meanwhile, I’m still trying to pin down the airdate order. The msn list (once it’s tidied up) is not all that helpful. The series 2 and 3 dates, where given, don’t seem to relate to UK reality at all, as the dates given are generally months (if not years) after my estimation, and what I know, of the likely / actual UK airdates – perhaps they’re US related – although the ordering of them corresponds reasonably well with the C5 order (which may well be what we're after, or something close to it). The series 1 dates could be UK related and are almost plausible (using a “Mythbuster” term), in that the order looks as though it could be more or less ok (as compared with the C5 list of episodes), but the dates look a little contrived though they could be right. I’d like to get some confirmation for the ordering and the dates as it all seems rather too good!

To try to get some “concrete” data I’ve contacted E-one, who very nicely said that they don’t have any info on what order the episodes were aired in, or dates, and also C5 (Milkshake) and Digiguide, to try to get a listing of episodes with initial airdates (no replies as yet, but it wasn’t that long ago). My current feeling is that the C5 episode order as per their website is more or less ok, but they don’t give the airdates and I don’t think the ordering is entirely correct, as I found some useful data on C5 blogs on “Throng” ([1] & [2]), which gave me a good idea of the airdates and order for the last 26 episodes of series 2 if the blog is to be believed. However, the blog itself although useful doesn’t give an entirely clear picture as it’s not complete (i.e. it does not cover all the 26 episodes) and the episode order does not exactly correspond with the C5 listing. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kwerty (talkcontribs) 04:37, 21 March 2011 (UTC)

update - Have just received a quote from Digiguide. Two problems (a) they only have the data from March 2005, and (b) very expensive! Let's hope we can get something concrete from C5, or am I being over-optimistic. Failing that, might have to rummage around for other possible sources (unless anyone out there has this info already, and is willing to share it ....) Kwerty (talk) 03:39, 23 March 2011 (UTC)
update 2 - still working on it slowly! C5 seem very reluctant to answer emails - I had one reply which I think confirmed the transmission order for series 1 and the 1st bit of series 2, but I'm still trying to get confirmation of the airdates for those, and also the order and airdates for the rest of series 2. I'll chase them again. Meanwhile I've been doing some further research, and I'm fairly sure that series 1 was broadcast in two chunks in 2004, the 1st on Mondays to Fridays starting 31 May, and the second starting 25 Oct, but I'm still not sure of exactly how many were in each chunk - possibly 27 in the first and 25 in the second? Series 2 appears to have been broadcast in 4 parts - the 1st starting 4 Sept 2006 (mon - fri, 14 eps), the second starting 12th Dec 2006, or possibly a little later (i.e. around xmas), and then into the new year (12 eps), 13 eps in the third starting on the 5th March 2007, and the rest starting 4th June 2007. The xmas special seems to have been 1st broadcast just before Christmas 2007. I can't quite pin the precise dates down, though, and indications of the broadcast order are contradictory in parts across the source data I'm using! I'm hoping that C5 will eventually come to the rescue! Kwerty (talk) 01:56, 14 August 2011 (UTC)

The episode numbers in brackets are as they appear on the C5 website, from which it's clear that Series 1 was shown sequentially, in an initial block of 35, a second block of 14, and then the last three episodes. An asterisk next to the date indicates no title or description in the Radio Times, but it seems a safe bet that the six episodes in question were shown in the correct order, given that the other 46 were.

Series 2 was shown in three blocks, with the first 14 again shown in order, and the same seems to be true of the next 12 (the seven marked with an asterisk "slotting in" perfectly), and also the last block of 12 (three with an asterisk). The third block of 14 episodes, however, was shown completely randomly, 11 being identified in the Radio Times, but three without any title or description, which are marked with a dagger. I've put the three unallocated episodes against them, but it might be better to say that each date was one of the three episodes, or that each episode could have been on any of the three dates. Nick Cooper (talk) 11:56, 14 August 2011 (UTC)

Excellent! My original methodology worked reasonably well (“Daily Express” archive data to try to identify where the new episodes (ie not flagged as repeats, and without titles) fitted, C5 for the link between episode number and name (and order?!), and msn data [1] for the dates (having found that the dates for both series 1 & 2 looked more or less ok!). When I tidied up the msn data (eg removed obviously unwanted items, such as “untitled” episodes, grouped episodes, unknown titles (eg the giraffe?), added in the missing episode (Long Grass), and examined what was left after sorting by date. I got quite a good correspondence with the “not a repeat” Express data (though my big problem with this was that I wasn’t getting anything for Sundays, which rather worried me as the msn data included quite a number of such cases!), and a good tie-up with the C5 list on order and episode title (note: the basic order on msn episode number for the msn data is pretty much identical to the current wiki order ie by DVD, though the numbers on the msn list are effectively meaningless in themselves, because of all the irrelevant data removed).

Your RT data gives a much better tie-up with the edited msn data. Series 1 looks very good, in that when ordered by date there are only a couple of queries

(a) the msn date for “Sleepy Princess” is Sun 11 July 2004, which puts it as the last episode in the 1st block, whereas you have the RT date as Thu 28 Oct, the 1st episode in the 2nd block. The RT data is probably correct as I’ve found TV schedule entries in our local paper archives that indicate that the episode on the 9th July wasn’t a repeat, no episode on Sat 10th, and the 11th and 12th both show as repeats

(b) msn has the final 3 episodes in the 2nd block on Sun – Tues, 14 – 16 Nov, at the rear end of the block, whereas the RT data has them separated, as a very small 3rd block on Sun – Tue, 28 – 30 Nov.

For Series 2

(a) 1st block: RT = msn

(b) 2nd block: episodes and order = msn, but msn dates for the first 4 (12 – 15 Dec) not the same as the RT dates (25 – 28 Dec)

(c) 4th block: for the final 3 episodes, msn has the dates as Mon 18th – Wed 20th which is consistent with the pattern (missing out Sats & Suns), and also agrees with the TvThrong entry of 7 June for these episodes [2], but RT has the episodes showing on Sat 16th – Mon 18th

(c) 3rd block – basically msn = RT = Throng [3] [4] [5], which as you say is noticeably out of kilter with C5 (note: you have to see past the oddities in the Throng data!). We can use the info on Throng to give a date for the three troublesome cases, in that [6] has “Dens” on Fri 16th, and [7] has “Rebecca Rabbit” on Wed 21st, so by default “Pretend Friend” (which doesn’t get a mention on Throng) is on Mon 19th.

Please can you check that you're right on the above, and also confirm the airdate for the Xmas special. Looks like it’s 20 Dec 2007 [8] ,but msn has it as episode 141 on 21 Dec 2008!?

Re-checking the Radio Times, the following were listed for Series 1:
11/07/04 - "Animation about a little pig and her family. (Repeat)"
12/07/04 - "George gets hiccups from eating too quickly. (Repeat)" [i.e. Episode 11]
13/07/04 - "George gets teased for having a baby's tricylce. (Repeat)" [i.e. Episode 12]
The rest of the week had the descriptions for Episode 13-15, so presumably the 11th was Episode 10.

15/11/04 - "George gets hiccups from eating too quickly. (Repeat)" [i.e. Episode 11]
16/11/04 - "(Repeat)"
The rest of the week (and the following) was either a generic description, or none at all, but all marked as repeats.
For Series 2, 2nd block:
Mon 11/12/06 - "(Repeat)"

Obviously I missed marking the episode of 25/12/06 with an asterix, but it's still clear that, with no weekend episodes, there was a straight run of repeats of Episodes 7-14, after which there were the first screenings of Episodes 15-26
2nd Series, 4th block - Yes, the Radio Times has the last three as 18-20/06/07, not 16-18/06/07, which was my transcription error.
2nd series, 3rd block - I'm surprised I even got Rebecca Rabbit right, but that all seem unequivocal now.
The Radio Times has the Christmas Special on 25/12/07 08:20 with, "The cheeky piglet posts letters to Santa," not marked as a repeat, and in a 15 minute slot (20/12 was an undescribed repeat). Nick Cooper (talk) 13:47, 17 August 2011 (UTC)

Series / Episode / DVD listings format

Below is an example of a revised layout suggested for the Series (note: not seasons) listings page (pages?) - it is based on the template that was used for "Thomas & Friends". Also, I suggest that we have a separate page, rather than a table on the main page, for the list of Region 2 DVD's that have been released, or are known to be being released soon. The main Peppa Pig page would then link to this new page. The new page would include a list of the episodes to be found on each of the listed DVD's (eg "Pingu" style?). Any thoughts?

Example Series list:

Yes, that looks fine, although I have a preference for 24 hour clock timing. That said, they're obviously always going to be AM! Nick Cooper (talk) 09:09, 10 September 2011 (UTC)

OK - ready to go (I think). Proposed revised page can be viewed in my sandbox (User:Kwerty/sandbox). Any comments before I update? Kwerty (talk) 02:40, 2 October 2011 (UTC)
Looks great. I'd not noticed that the Xmas special ended up on two DVDs (sneaky!), although perhaps it would be better to decribe the 5 min episodes there as "regular" rather than "normal"?
The Daily Mirror did a free promotional DVD with Mummy Pig at Work, Frogs and Worms and Butterflies, Secrets, and Muddy Puddles. Can we work this in somewhere? Obviously there are the consecutive DVD box sets, which probably don't need documenting, although there is the "odd" single-case 3-disc set of Peppa's Christmas, Princess Peppa, and The Fire Engine (i.e. Vols. 7, 11 & 12!).
I'm not 100% sure about the listings for the non-UK DVDs, though. It might be better to list on a "by country" basis, simply saying "as UK Vol. 1" or whatever. I know the original description for the German DVD was down to me, but it might just be best to just list the episodes that are on it, and maybe include a foot-note to say what's "missing" compared to Muddy Puddles issued elsewhere. I think I also have episode listings for the French Vols. 2, 3, and maybe 5. I guess it depends how far we want to go with the foreign-language titles, as most are straight translations or equivalents, such as "Cache-Cache" for Hide and Seek, but others are different, like "Á la recherche de Monsieur Dionsaure" - "The Search for Mr Dinosaur" - for Mr Dinosaur is Lost. Nick Cooper (talk) 10:30, 2 October 2011 (UTC)
Thanks for the comments. I'll change "normal" to "regular" as you suggest. We can include the Mirror Special as a footnote to the UK list, and also mention the UK box sets; I've already been thinking about this and pondering the best method. Note: there's another "odd" set coming on 24 Oct - The Christmas Collection, containing Volumes 7, 9 & 13 (Amazon)!
I've also been thinking about the non-uk dvd's, and almost dropped the notes altogether. I left them in as they were already there, but it needs more research - there appear to be 8(!) French ones (French versions, as distinct from a UK import) to date + a "double", + Italian, German etc as well as other regional versions?! I've been looking at the French ones (Amazon France) quite closely, as in a lot of cases, as you say, the French titles don't translate too well at all (e.g. "Tous à la piscine" is "All to/in/at the Pool" = presumably "Swimming") vs the English originals, and also the episodes on their dvd's are mostly a total jumble when compared to the UK groupings!? My current thinking is to put them onto the French Wiki site, and just cross-ref ours to that for anyone who's interested? Kwerty (talk) 03:17, 3 October 2011 (UTC)

Kylie Kangeroo

I watched the new episode 'Kylie Kangeroo' on November 9th 2011 and afterwards updated the episode list accordingly.

An episode named 'Trish Tiger' was then added to the list with a transmission date of 10th November. I tuned in at that time on that day but the four episodes transmitted had all been shown before. No episode with this name was shown. I have therefore removed the edit. Jazzatola (talk) 17:29, 12 November 2011 (UTC)

Apparently new episodes were shown from 4.00 pm on the 1st November [9], but I haven't yet managed to track down any indication as to how many (13?) or what they were, other than the one you picked up, which I suspect is the last one in the block! Doubtless they'll be repeated at some stage, but no sign of them on UK TV in November (from looking at the Digiguide schedules). I've asked Nick Jr if they can help!?! Kwerty (talk) 20:53, 13 November 2011 (UTC)
14 'new' episodes were broadcast on Nick Jr in this block but as far as I can tell the first 13 were those already shown on Channel 5 back in May. I started watching from the 7th onward and the episodes shown that week were consistent with this. Only the final episode on the 9th was actually new. On the upside, several new characters were listed in the credits of the new episode that have not been seen yet so I'm hopeful that truly new episodes will be on the way soon. Jazzatola (talk) 16:03, 14 November 2011 (UTC)
If they started on the 1st Nov (as blogged) then they showed 8 "new" episodes in that week (2 a day scheduled apparently for 4.00pm and 4.15 pm Tues - Fri), then 2 each day Mon & Tues (the 7th/8th), the 13th episode at 4.00pm on the 9th, followed by "Kylie" (scheduled for 4.15pm). I had a suspicion that this was what had happened, which you've helpfully confirmed. Presumably someone didn't get it quite right at Nick Jr, and inadvertently gave us a sneak preview of the 1st(?) episode in series 4 part 2!?! As you say, hopefully we'll get the rest of the truly new episodes soon - need to keep an eye out for them on NJ now! I wonder why they chose the broadcast times they did, as virtually every previous episode has first been shown in the morning, and quite early at that. Kwerty (talk) 03:26, 15 November 2011 (UTC)
According to digiguide, there is an episode on Channel 5 on Thursday 15th December at 8:25am, erroneously titled "The Flying Vet" with the description "Peppa shows Kylie Kangaroo how to jump up and down in muddy puddles, but who can jump the highest?".
http://digiguide.tv/programme-details/Channel+5/15+December+2011/08:25/Peppa+Pig/Animation/
So assuming the title has been entered wrongly, it looks like we might be getting that new episode in four weeks' time! Darren1090 (talk) 09:47, 17 November 2011 (UTC)
A nice early Xmas present, although it seems a bit odd to start a new run on a Thursday, rather than the Monday. Nick Cooper (talk) 11:05, 17 November 2011 (UTC)
Actually, I think it makes perfect sense. Digiguide has updated for Friday 16th December, showing two new episodes (based on the descriptions; the titles are wrong). Assuming we get two new episodes on each of the five weekdays of the following week, that will conclude the next block of 13. Series 4 Episode 15 looks to be "Captain Daddy Dog" which looks like it may resolve another previously unanswered question - "where is Danny's father?". Episode 16 looks to involve a trip to a Dinosaur Park to celebrate Freddy Fox's birthday. Darren1090 (talk) 22:12, 17 November 2011 (UTC)
You appear to be right! Kwerty (talk) 04:29, 25 November 2011 (UTC)

Page needs attention

I visited this page today, being redirected from List of Peppa Pig episodes. I found a number of things wrong with it that violate various Manual of Styles, including the main one, MOS:TV and WP:ACCESS:

  • First is the name. It contradicts all other episode list article titles and naming convetions, and uses an ampersand (&) and a colon. Were it not for the redirect, nobody would ever think of typing this article name to get to the desired page. The typographic symbols shouldn't be used because they're not part of an official title
  • There is no lead section
  • you have to click the [show] button on every season's episode list to see any episode details, including title, number, and airdate.
  • In the episode lists there's a column for "DVD Ref'ce" -- who knows what this means
  • The section titles aren't following proper conventions
  • The region 2 DVD table uses more [show] tags, which list the episodes appearing on each DVD, with a different DVD # to the DVD Ref'ce one.
  • Ref [8] "As per Amazon". This needs addressing per WP:CITE (title, accessdate, date, publisher, etc).
  • All refs need publishers, correct titles, publication dates.
  • The references only cover titles and airdates, not "DVD Ref'ce"s, and not DVD release dates. Matthewedwards :  Chat  02:54, 29 December 2011 (UTC)
  • I fixed the name and removed the Amazon link. Any takers to make the other improvements? --John (talk) 12:09, 10 April 2012 (UTC)

New dvd's announced

Two new DVDs are in the offing. These are a (jubilee) celebration dvd titled "Peppa Pig: The Queen A Royal Compilation" [10], to be released on 21 May, and a new box set of 6 (primary) DVD's [11], being released on 2 July.

The first of these is the more interesting as Amazon says that the dvd includes a new (as yet unbroadcast) Peppa episode "The Queen". However, all the other episodes have previously been broadcast and have been included on earlier primary DVD's (the other Peppa episodes are from series 1 and 3). Also, Amazon says that the dvd has a volume number of 16; (a) we already have a primary volume 16, (b) the practice for volume numbers in the past has usually been associated with DVDs containing episodes that have previously been shown but not yet released on DVD (the only exception I can think of is the inclusion of the Christmas special on two previous "volumes") and (c) the DVD apparently contains two bonus episodes, from Ben & Holly!!

The second dvd has the title "Head box set", whatever this means?

I suggest we refrain from updating the DVD lists until the position is clearer?! Kwerty (talk) 01:15, 23 April 2012 (UTC)

Apparently the new episode airs initially on Channel 5 on June 4th! [12]. Kwerty (talk) 03:21, 9 May 2012 (UTC)
... and is the first of a series of new episodes ... Kwerty (talk) 19:49, 9 May 2012 (UTC)
I have just added the first five new episodes, as the details now appear on forthcoming schedules. We have one a day this time, instead of two on the previous run. Darren1090 (talk) 20:11, 18 May 2012 (UTC)
Unlike all the other primary DVDs, The Queen isn't being marketed with a volume number. Obviously it belongs in the primary list, because it's the first release of the Jubilee episode, but perhaps it would be better not to give it a volume number, not least because I'd be very surprised if the next "regular" release isn't marketed as "Volume 17"! New episodes Dec 2012

Looks like the last block of series 4 episodes is about to be shown, as the 1st 3 of these are currently scheduled for Dec 12 - 14th on C5 at 8.15, on Digiguide [13] (not clear from the listings if Nick Jr has got them yet, as their listings are not yet up to these dates). Also not clear what happens subsequently, but I think the following week will continue the one-a-day pattern, but what happens in Xmas week is anybody's guess!! New episode Feb 2013

Someone added a new episode at the end of the Series 4 table (numbered 53) and added a new line for series 5 in the summary. Another person (or two) reverted this change, but between them they left the two tables un-closed. I've fixed the tables, but I can't verify which series the new episode belongs to (or if it even exists / was broadcast), so I've left it out.Otus scops (talk) 12:47, 16 April 2014 (UTC)

"‘We’re in the middle of producing some longer special episodes which will take us through to the end of 2015,’ said [Phil] Davies. ‘I can’t talk too much about next year but I can say we’re all very excited about the special we have planned. I’m sure there’ll be some more episodes.’"

Disputed - ABD withdrawal of episode

@A8mo: I note that you've re-added your comment about the "Madame Gazelle's Leaving Party" being withdrawn by ABD. I can't find no reference that states it was withdrawn – only that the complainant wanted it removed. Indeed the complaint was based on watching the episode on DVD so timescales cannot be related to original broadcast (which was 2.5 years before the news article). The DVD with this episode on (The Holiday) is still on sale. Do you have any references that support your claim? I suspect that you are mis-remembering and your information is not correct.--Otus scops (talk) 22:38, 7 June 2014 (UTC)

The whole story sounds like complete rubbish. The line is said by Mr Rabbit in his Welsh accent - so it actually sounds like "vrocking" - yet we're expected to believe that a child in Cardiff morphed that unaided into "fucking"? As one of the comments on the South Wales Evening Post page suggests, it's more likely that the child has heard the swearword previously, and misinterpreted the dialogue as a result. However, there's certainly no evidence that the episode was banned, or the DVD withdrawn. It's also notable that the episode has been in circulation for two and a half years without anyone else being stupid enough to make a similar claim. Nick Cooper (talk) 10:26, 8 June 2014 (UTC)

British Spelling

I have corrected the spelling of the word 'theatre' for episode 182, Mr Potato's Christmas Show. As this is a British made it is only right to have the correct spelling.Statto74 (talk) 07:37, 10 August 2014 (UTC)

Missing Episodes

I referenced this a few months ago for a concise list of titles, but at some point between then and now the following episodes have been edited off the article completely for some reason.

Season 1: "My Cousin Chloé"

Season 2: "Dens", "George Catches a Cold", "George's Birthday", "Granddad Dog's Garage", "Grandpa's Little Train", "Ice Skating", "Sports Day"

Season 3: "A Trip To the Moon", "Chatterbox", "Danny's Pirate Party", "Edmond Elephant's Birthday", "Grampy Rabbit's Boatyard", "Grampy Rabbit's Lighthouse", "Grandpa at the Playground", "Hospital", "Mr Fox's Van", "Mr Potato Comes to Town", "Pedro's Cough", "Richard Rabbit Comes to Play", "Santa's Grotto", "Santa's Visit", "Shake, Rattle and Bang", "The Blackberry Bush", "Whistling"

121.221.58.55 (talk) 05:10, 22 December 2014 (UTC)

Looks like it was disruptive editing on 1 December. I've reverted back to that previous version, as it would have been too difficult to unpick all the other edits since then. Nick Cooper (talk) 11:15, 22 December 2014 (UTC)

USA air dates?

Should we add the USA airdates to the episode list. I could find out the airdates in the USA on my tv. It list when the episode first aired with my Directv. So should we add USA air dates? --Squidwardfan (talk) 18:44, 23 September 2015 (UTC)Squidwardfan

A moot point, perhaps, considering this discussion is two months old, but this isn't a US series, so the US air dates are of no more interest than the air dates in Argentina would be. (i.e. They are of no interest.) Cyphoidbomb (talk) 23:07, 29 November 2015 (UTC)

Odd time formatting

In this edit I removed a litany of confusing numbers from the air date column. I assume these represent times, but it's unclear if they are intended to represent episode length or at what time of day the episode aired. Regardless there are a few issues here: 1) MOS:TV doesn't encourage the inclusion of times, whether they be individual episode lengths or the time the episode aired. 2) The air date parameter should only contain a date. This makes it easier to be parsed by systems like Google, who might use the information to return an answer to a question. (ex: "When did the Peppa Pig episode 'Hiccups' air?" Return: "11 June 2004") Extra variables might be confusing. 3) The content is unsourced anyway, so it's of little value. 4) Piggy-backing on point #1, we shouldn't be logging data indiscriminately.

I will also mention that the DVD reference column is of questionable utility as well. The point of an episode list is to provide information about the broadcast episodes, and DVD relationships don't fit that purpose. That's one of the reasons why WikiProject Television stopped including DVD releases in the series overview table. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 23:12, 29 November 2015 (UTC)

New episodes

There seems to be growing confusion about the most recent batches of episodes after Easter Bunny. In the first instance, the following nine were included in the My First Cinema Experience film released on 7 April 2017, some of which were subsequently shown by ABC Kids in Australia, as dated:

  • London [22/06/2017]
  • The Police [27/06/2017]
  • Canal Boat
  • The Zoo [29/06/2017]
  • Move to Music [21/06/2017]
  • The Outback [09/07/2017]
  • Surfing [09/07/2017]
  • The Great Barrier Reef [09/07/2017]
  • Boomerang [09/07/2017]

Note that the page as it stands erroneously states that Simple Science [ABC 23/06/2017] and School Project [ABC 26/06/2017] were included in the cinema compilation, but not The Zoo, which was. In addition, ABC screened Mummy Pig's Book on 28/06/2017.

Meanwhile, Channel 5 has screened or has scheduled the following episodes, with episode numbers as per radiotimes.com and Channel 5 (RT/C5):

  • Simple Science [Mon 24/07/2017] (11/9)
  • School Project [Tue 25/07/2017] (12/10)
  • Mummy Pig's Book [Wed 26/07/2017] (14/11)
  • Grandpa Pig’s Greenhouse [Thu 27/07/2017] (12/12)
  • Molly Mole [Fri 28/07/2017] (13/13)
  • Move to Music [Mon 31/07/2017] (14/12)
  • London [Tue 01/08/2017] (15/13)
  • The Police [Wed 02/08/2017] (16/14)
  • The Zoo [Thu 03/08/2017] (15/15)
  • Canal Boat [Fri 04/08/2017] (16/16)
  • The Outback [0Mon 7/08/2017] (16/--)
  • Surfing [Tue 08/08/2017] (17/--)

Note that The Great Barrier Reef and Boomerang are not showing on the RT site yet, but I think we can assume they'll be on 9 & 10 August and numbered 18 & 19.

The obvious problem is that RT and C5 can't agree on episode numbers, either against themselves (i.e. duplicates) or each other. The only pattern is that the C5 numbers for the first and second weekly blocks do put them in broadcast order, but the numbers overlap. In addition, the second and third weeks replicate the order of the cinema release.

I think that on the basis of all this we can list the in the Channel 5 order, correcting the episode numbers accordingly, but date them as per the cinema release and/or first screenings. Nick Cooper (talk) 13:22, 27 July 2017 (UTC)

Wikipedia is not a reliable source. EvergreenFir (talk) 03:10, 24 September 2017 (UTC)

The article is contradicting itself by saying "which were first broadcast in the UK on Channel 5 and Nick Jr., starting in 2003."

I really think that "starting in 2003" should be changed to "starting in 2004".

What are the reasons not to do this edit?

Done No source needed; I checked the article and found the contradiction. However, I cannot find anything in the list at WP:CONTRADICTIONS that would best fit this scenario. jd22292 (Jalen D. Folf) (talk) 03:34, 24 September 2017 (UTC)

Santa's Grotto is a Season 3 Peppa Episode. It has been re-listed under Season 5 and should be removed. Mr. Potatoes Christmas Show is a Season 4 Peppa Episode. It has been re-listed under Season 5 and should be removed. The only confirmed new episode for Season 5 is "Father Christmas" (Season 5, Episode 32). Brockraabe (talk) 02:40, 5 December 2017 (UTC)

@Brockraabe:  Not done but only because your request isn't sourced. It shouldn't be a problem if you have a reliable source. Did you learn about the confirmed new episode from a media outlet? CityOfSilver 05:49, 5 December 2017 (UTC)

Hello, I should not need a source to remove episodes from this list. I cannot prove a negative. The person who added the episodes in the first place should have needed a source to add them. They are the ones with the burden of proof. Furthermore this article itself is proof that the episodes are redundant.

I am asking to remove episodes that have been erroneously added. "Santa's Grotto" should not appear in Season 5 (It is a Season 3 Episode). "Mr. Potatoes Christmas Show" should not appear in Season 5 (It is a Season 4 Episode).

Channel 5 lists "Father Christmas" as the 32nd episode of Season 5. I don't see any evidence that there are episodes beyond episode 32 in Season 5. Therefore, whoever added episodes 33, 34, and 35 to this article did so erroneously. http://www.channel5.com/show/peppa-pig/

Look at the article again and you will see this redundancy: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Peppa_Pig_episodes Go to Season 4, Episode 25. It is "Mr. Potatoes Christmas Show". This is correct. Now go to Season 5, episode 34. It is "Mr. Potatoes Christmas Show" again. Whoever added this to Season 5, is just plain wrong. The episode is already a Season 4 episode. It should not be in Season 5.

Now look at Season 3, Episode 51. It is "Santa's Grotto". This is correct. It has been correct since 2010. Now go to Season 5, episode 33. It is "Santa's Grotto" again. Whoever added this to Season 5, is mistaken. This is already a Season 3 episode. It should not be in Season 5.

Until someone else can prove that these episodes belong in Season 5, the episodes must be removed. The burden of proof is on the user who added the new information. Brockraabe (talk) 08:46, 7 December 2017 (UTC)

Indeed so - removed. Bonusballs (talk) 11:00, 7 December 2017 (UTC)

The Peppa Pig Series 6 episodes are miscounted with extra episode with a same episode that I was supposed to fix that before and recount the episodes altogether already. Have you check the episodes from season 6 from this link https://tvschedule.zap2it.com/overview.html?programSeriesId=SH00665651&tmsId=SH006656510000&from=undefined&aid=gapzap You better fix this article and update it and recount the episodes so far as of 3 March 2020 as promise. The table for season 7 states "Milkshake!" as the original channel, but "Milkshake!" is only the name of the children's programme during which Peppa Pig episodes and other shows are being shown. This should be changed to "Channel 5" (or "Channel 5 (UK)", if it's ambuguous) instead, which is the actual television channel broadcasting it. Deenesca (talk) 07:41, 9 September 2021 (UTC)

New episodes (new series?)

Does anyone have a clue where the episodes currently being aired on Channel 5 (UK) fit in? "The Clubhouse", "Detective Club", "Clubhouse Shop"... All I could manage to find out about these is this, where they seem to list the correct air dates, episode titles, future episode contents and even quotes - insider information? But no hint at whether this is a new series 8 or still 7 (which so far only had 50 episodes aired instead of the usual 52, most of them first on YouTube)... --Deenesca (talk) 15:33, 31 March 2022 (UTC)

Just found out that Channel 5's episode overview for season 7 lists the aforementioned episodes as 29, 30 and 31, right after the "Undersea Party" being listed as #28 here in the table as well, but things seem to go awry after that. --Deenesca (talk) 15:39, 31 March 2022 (UTC)
If you are going to add them in there you have to cite that list, because an IP address user added 2 fake episodes MOVIEFAN2001 (talk) 08:30, 5 April 2022 (UTC)
I don't think that Wiki can be trusted for anything, given the mixture of real and fake episode titles. Looking at the current Series 7 listing, it seems to be all over the place in terms of the running order. Some episodes have debuted on Nickelodeon/Nick Jr, others on Channel 5, and some on YouTube. I've had a look at the first C5 transmissions, and some of those are earlier than the Nick/YouTube releases, but there doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to the way each platform has ordered them. I think all we can do is list the episodes in order of the first appearance, so I'll look towards resorting them. Nick Cooper (talk) 20:14, 10 September 2022 (UTC)

Episode #307 has a typo.

"squeakt" under episode #307.

Because The Clubhouse, Detective Club, Clubhouse Shop and Clubhouse Adventure aired from 29th March-1st April 2021 and Families, The Big Hill, Hippies, and Monkey Trees aired this month? 82.17.250.88 (talk) 19:28, 11 September 2022 (UTC)

Series 7... and 8!

OK, I've now unpicked the Series 7 episode list, and found the missing Nickelodeon and YouTube dates. As usual, Series 7 is composed of four blocks of thirteen episodes each, and this is certainly how Channel 5 has screened them, usually in one go, but occasionally with episodes held back from or shown before the majority:

  • Episodes 1-13 = 8 to 24 March 2021
  • Episodes 14-26 = 6 to 12 September 2021 + 13 December 2021 ("Christmas With Kylie Kangaroo")
  • Episodes 27-39 = 7 February 2022 ("Winter Games") + 23 March to 12 April 2022
  • Episodes 40-51 = scheduled for 5 to 20 September 2022

Note that Episode 44 ("The Big Hill") was scheduled for Friday 9 September, but was pre-empted by Channel 5's coverage of the death of Queen Elizabeth; the date given is the first scheduled repeat, given that the episodes carried on with Episode 45 ("Hippies") today. I think we can safely assume that "Grandpa Pig's Christmas Present" will be screened by Channel 5 at Christmas, as Episode 52. In the case of the Nickelodeon/Nick Jr. screenings, they have now shown the first 39 episodes, and although a number pre-empt the Channel 5 screenings, and are mostly in a different order, the thirteen episode blocks were maintained within themselves, although the second led directly into the third:

  • Episodes 1-13 = 5 March to 9 July 2021
  • Episodes 14-26 = 4 October to 8 December 2021
  • Episodes 27-39 = 8 December 2021 to 21 June 2022

Similarly, YouTube releases appear to have had the first two blocks (i.e. Episodes 1-26) in the correct order, but that was followed by a random mix of some but not all of the third and fourth block episodes, along with what appear to be the first six episodes of Series 8. Skipped episodes have included the four Clubhouse-based episodes, at least until the first - along with "Families" - was released last week. "The Big Hill," "Hippies," and "Monkey Trees" also remain unreleased. Anyway, I have rearranged the episode list to reflect official order (regardless of premiere), and split off Series 8. Nick Cooper (talk) 12:56, 12 September 2022 (UTC)

"The Big Hill" replaced the scheduled "Flying Discs" on C5 today, so I have amended the listing accordingly. Virgin's programme guide is still showing "Kiddie Workout"-thru-"Monkey Trees" for tomorrow and the beginning of next week, as originally scheduled, while Freeview and Freesat have "Kiddie Workout" tomorrow, but un-named "new" episodes next week. We'll have to see how this pans out. Nick Cooper (talk) 10:26, 15 September 2022 (UTC)

Channel 5 has now screened the above six, but interspersed with three new episodes, and there are four more next week (tomorrow is a repeat), making a standard block of 13. The Virgin Media EG has only numbered the eleventh episode, but as "S7 E63" which it would be sequentially. This will make S7 an unusual 65 episodes, but we'll have to go with it. I will update and amend the list accordingly. Nick Cooper (talk) 13:18, 16 February 2023 (UTC)
