Martin Mendez was not an official member of the band until after the recording of My Arms, Your Hearse. Mikael Akerfeldt played the bass on the CD.

Steven Wilson

[edit]

While he was never officially a member of Opeth, Steven Wilson has been heavily associated with the band and is a known co-writer of a large amount of their material from Blackwater Park onwards. Would it be appropriate to note this in this article? Does anyone know where we could find sources to confirm this? I merely know it arbitrarily because I am a fan of both Opeth and Steven Wilson. 101.182.144.214 (talk) 10:46, 1 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

This information is not necessary to add to the band members list. This should include only members of the band. Thanks for suggesting it on the talk page first. Andre666 (talk) 12:31, 1 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Touring drummers

[edit]

Sami Karppinen is listed on this page in a couple places as a touring drummer for the band, who played some 2022 shows.

Made me think, if that stands, Gene Hoglan should be on there too, as he was a touring drummer in Summer 2005 before Axenrot, specifically the Sounds of the Underground tour. He also appeared in the band's music video for The Grand Conjuration. Jmcgit (talk) 19:17, 6 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
