"Genre" or "Intended genre"
[edit]A column of the table is currently titled "Genre". An IP-editor has changed it to read "Intended genre" because "Otherwise, we'll have to mark 'Let's Trim' as Comedy." I have reverted this since and so has Emijrp.
I think it should say "Genre". This is the universal practice of categorizing television shows on and off Wikipedia (currently, not a single article says "Intended genre"). The relevant guideline, Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Television, only speaks of "genre". I think it's safe to assume that "genre" is preferred in general by community consensus.
As it stands with this article, all other major contributors (Ceosad, Emijrp, me) have preferred "genre", which points to a consensus here as well. With regards to the comment by the IP-user, we don't have to change Let's Trim to be comedy, as it clearly features all the generic elements of an educational program: a didactic message, practical do-s-and-don't-s, a documentary outlook. – Finnusertop (talk ⋅ contribs) 12:55, 6 February 2016 (UTC)
- What is the correct venue for changing a universal practice? And as for your evidence that Let's Trim has all the generic elements of an educational program ... more like an affectionate parody of all the generic elements of an educational program: an affectionate parody of a didactic message, an affectionate parody of practical do's and don'ts, and an affectionate parody of a documentary outlook.103.14.61.149 (talk) 10:16, 8 February 2016 (UTC)

- I've added some sources that characterize it as "propaganda" rather than "education". I've also included it as a note under Common Sense, the regular TV programme it was broadcast under. – Finnusertop (talk ⋅ contribs) 11:38, 12 February 2016 (UTC)
