516

[edit]

In the blown up detail of the NY metro the 516 area is pointed towards Suffolk County, instead of Nassau, where it actually is. caz | speak 17:23, 15 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

347

[edit]

The information about 347 area code on this page ("Not manhattan") is not consistent with information on the page 347 67.246.137.228 (talk) 19:18, 16 June 2010. (UTC)

Marble Hill

[edit]

The table is misleading, in that it makes it look as if area 929 has special treatment for Marble Hill that is different from the other area codes. This is not the case, as there is nothing unique to 929 with regards to Marble Hill. Quite simply, Marble Hill is treated as part of the Bronx for assignment of area codes and telephone exchanges, rather than as part of Manhattan as it is for legal jurisdiction.

The table should be revised as follows:

                212  347  646  718  917  929
                ---  ---  ---  ---  ---  ---
      Bronx *         X         X    X    X
     Brooklyn         X         X    X    X
 Manhattan **    X         X         X
       Queens         X         X    X    X
Staten Island         X         X    X    X
--------------------------------------------
            * plus Marble Hill
           ** excluding Marble Hill  — Preceding unsigned comment added by 96.232.247.99 (talk) 04:09, 12 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
