Iwashimizu Hachiman-gū

[edit]

Hello, there is a mistake in this article. Indeed, the Iwashimizu Hachiman-gū is not a japanese national treasure; none of its buildings is designated as such, it only gathers some important cultural properties. By entering its japanese name 石清水八幡宮 in the field 名称 for a search in the Japanese Agency for Cultural Affairs database (click 検索 >> to start the search), anyone can verify that the 種別 (classification) column does not display any 国宝 (national treasure) but only 重要文化財 (important cultural property). On the contrary, a search with 大崎八幡宮 (Ōsaki Hachiman-gū) confirms that this one has a national treasure.
I have no time to make the necessary adjustments to the article's text, so if someone else is available to correct it... --ContributorQ (talk) 22:32, 18 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@ContributorQ: The Japanese Agency for Cultural Affairs database is always a bit out of date. The structures at Iwashimizu Hachimangū have been designated National Treasures in 2016 only. Please take a look at the three reliable sources supplied after the Shrine name, one of which is from the Agency for Cultural Affairs: [1], [2], [3]. No adjustments necessary as far as I can see. bamse (talk) 23:52, 18 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the references. And yes, I've just checked that the designation of this shrine (february 2016) is indeed announced in the official document of the MEXT (table 2-9-9). The database is not up to date ! Sorry for the alert...--ContributorQ (talk) 22:30, 19 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
