Shonen Jump

In the May 2006 issue of Shonen Jump, there is a list of some of the up coming episodes.

Somebody needs to add episodes 146, 147, 148, 149, and 150. I would but my computer can't type Kanji, let alone display it.
Done ^^--JadziaLover 21:51, 31 August 2005 (UTC)

Episode 138

Umm, were is episode 138? Can somebody please add it to the list?

Done ^^--JadziaLover 19:36, 2 September 2005 (UTC)

Konoha Sport Festival

Where Does The "Konoha Sport Festival" Fall Under?? It's not on the list...

Done ^^--Quertbarbie62 02:48, 30 June 2006

US titles

Is it necessary to have the US titles on this page? There's already a seperate page for them, after all--JadziaLover 19:15, 23 December 2005 (UTC)

I'm not the one who put them there, but I think the question should be rephrased as, is it necessary to have the US titles on a separate page? They're already here, after all. Using the same page makes a lot more sense. --AceMyth 19:18, 23 December 2005 (UTC)
I agree with AceMyth. Also, it would be one less page to keep up-to-date. --Pentasyllabic 22:38, 23 December 2005 (UTC)
Alright, then I propose to merge them. --JadziaLover 23:09, 23 December 2005 (UTC)

A bit curious

TV Tokyo only lists up to episode 182. Where did the titles for 183+ come from? Geg 16:47, 23 April 2006 (UTC)

They mostly come from here. ~卍 JadziaLover 会話~投稿 卐~ 09:04, 24 April 2006 (UTC)

Seasons?

I have never seen the episodes been sorted by anything other the by year, except on fan sites. Is there a source for sorting the into, apparently rather arbitrary, seasons? If not, I suggest we sort them by year. ~卍 JadziaLover 会話~投稿 卐~ 09:03, 24 April 2006 (UTC)

It might be possible to sort the episodes by their opening and closing credits. I've seen the tracks sorted by season before, but never the actual episodes, so it could work. -- Tobias Phoenix

Reorganization

I have reorganised the list to be more like List of Oh My Goddess episodes, or List of Planetes episodes. I'll be working on the list in hopes of making it featured. I apriciate any help. --Cat out 15:36, 1 June 2006 (UTC)

Shouldn't it be edited a little to distinguish the official dub titles from the translated Japanese titles? The first 52 episodes use the official English dub episode titles while the rest use direct translations of the Japanese titles. Geg 15:39, 1 June 2006 (UTC)
Well... Yes. How though? I dont want to footnote several hundered articles. --Cat out 23:42, 3 June 2006 (UTC)
sorry but will someone please put the exact japanese translations back...like that people can know the differences in the titles...?
Bad idea. They should be added to the articles explaining individual episodes. After all that is only trivia. --Cat out 23:42, 3 June 2006 (UTC)
I understand wanting to conform, but this seemed like a bad idea. It was much easier to read before. - Rudykog 17:53, 6 June 2006 (UTC)
what do you mean? --Cat out 17:37, 8 June 2006 (UTC)
It's those two small bars that go between the episodes mainly. It's not as easy to read the list as before with them there. - Rudykog 01:59, 17 June 2006 (UTC)
Oh the white bar supposed to have a short summary of the epsidoe. I do not want to add some 270 summaries myself --Cat out 21:55, 20 June 2006 (UTC)
It's very ugly with those two extra blank rows. Having the fansub titles is useful. 192.35.232.241 16:01, 8 June 2006 (UTC)
One of the extra blank space is for the episode summary which is to be written. Fansubs titles are unencyclopedic when an official english title is avalible. Then they become trivia. --Cat out 17:37, 8 June 2006 (UTC)

The formatting makes it difficult to read, and with synopses it becomes information overload! This isn't a problem with shows with few episodes, however Naruto will soon go past 200 episodes. With so many episodes the important information (the list of episodes) gets lost in the new format. From the list of anime episodes only 14 use a similar format. The only show with over 100 episodes is YuYu Hakusho, and that page looks horrible. However, Pokemon with over 400 episodes, and Sailormoon with 200 use the old format, and I find it much easier to read. The formatting for Adventures of Mini-Goddess would be much better compared to what we have now. --70.112.75.114 06:36, 16 June 2006 (UTC)

As the only person on wikipedia who is the main contributor on featured lists involving anime (all three of them), I think I know something about anime lists. It is necesary for lists to be informative in order to be featured.
"Adventures of Mini-Goddess" is a 7 minute/ep show with hardly any plot. Naruto is a near 200 episode anime with a more than simple plot (Naruto's attempt to be the Hokage) and sub plots (all other arcs).
Number of episodes are irrelevant. At the very "worst" we would have to break the list but 200 episodes hardly warrant that. Star Trek's TNG, Voy, DS9 have 7 seasons with roughly 26 episodes each. Which makes 182 episodes. --Cat out 10:32, 19 June 2006 (UTC)
Cool Cat, wow, I keep bumping into you. Still trying to imply that you are better than everyone, eh? People are clearly objecting to your chunky table, again. Chunky formatting is not required at all for featured list status. If people want an alternative, I have a recommendation: {{Japanese episode list}} (instructions at Template talk:Japanese episode list, examples). -- Ned Scott 07:30, 20 June 2006 (UTC)
No, you are borderlining harrasment now. Yes my table is so nice it is beeing used in 3 featured lists. You on the other hand repetively opposed me on a large number of articles now. --Cat out 21:04, 20 June 2006 (UTC)
This isn't harassment, I followed some links because I am putting the {{WikiProject LOE}} notice on some talk pages. Featured lists are a joke, as I have found. You got one article in, and once that was done no one could say no to the other two because they looked like the first one. That is all. The style of this format is used by the OTHER 3 featured episode lists, interesting how your own logic can work against you. You can't force editors to use your style if they don't wish to, and from the comments here that looks to be what you are doing. -- Ned Scott 21:18, 20 June 2006 (UTC)
That explains the adding of the template, not your comment. --Cat out 21:54, 20 June 2006 (UTC)
Cool Cat, just because you have worked on featured lists doesn't mean you know any more about making a good list than someone else. You stressed that informative content is important on Featured Lists... 3 featured lists isn't any more of a qualification than being a hard worker and valuable contributor.
What people have been criticizing is the visual appeal; it's ok, but it could be much better. Don't take it personally unless you have a degree in layout and design. And if you do, well, study harder! ~MDD4696 21:32, 20 June 2006 (UTC)
I take it personaly when it is the same person (Ned Scott) repetively opposing me. Of course my suggestions are not any more notable than other peoples. However, I think using the format of exiting featured lists to be a good practice. If episodes had the summaries this would be a featured list already. --Cat out 21:52, 20 June 2006 (UTC)
I'm apart of WikiProject List of Television Episodes, and we're both apart of WikiProject Anime and manga, and you are surprised that I've made comments on here? I'm not following you around. -- Ned Scott 19:10, 21 June 2006 (UTC)

Help request

Ok, the page looks good, now I need some help. I'd like people to wrote short summaries (1-3 lines per ep). I have done one of them as example to show where the text goes (I copy pasted from linked article). --Cat out 23:43, 3 June 2006 (UTC)

Given the number of episodes, I believe very short (1 sentence) summaries would be advisable. ~MDD4696 21:33, 20 June 2006 (UTC)
Acceptable. But it must be one good sentence. ;) --Cat out 21:53, 20 June 2006 (UTC)
Short summaries disorganize the list, for that a list is a list, and it already served its purpose. Also, linking up every episode despite some of them being red links seem effective, being that the episodes are being slowly added. And we should relabel the arcs, seeing that it is easier to browse,

Change in markup

Templates markup has been modified. it should be more user friendly now. --Cat out 17:31, 22 June 2006 (UTC)

Im sorry to post here really sorry but does anyone mind posting when the songs begin and end?
Well, I like that. How about starting a seperate list for that? This page is already full of info as it is. --Cat out 22:27, 1 July 2006 (UTC)

Arcs

I figured it would make sense to include the story arcs inside the seasons, since we list the seasons... hope that's alright... I just have one problem: I dunno how to put the first arc's name inside a box. If someone can fix that if it's possible... The Wretched 15:26, 5 July 2006 (UTC)

Retraction: Nevermind. Figured it out. The Wretched 15:43, 5 July 2006 (UTC)
That's really unnecessary. We have a separate list explaing it. It only creates a needless sublevel in the TOC. – Someguy0830 (Talk | contribs) 20:15, 5 July 2006 (UTC)
It's not needless, it makes it easier to browse through by storyline. And It makes the list a lot more organized. The other article with the Arc names is not that useful. We should reverse the edit.

2 new episode titles

I found these over at ANN. Its the titles for Episodes 196 and 197

2006-08-02 196. "The unwanted child strikes, The day time stopped" 鬼後の攻撃 時間が止まったあの日 Onigo no kōgeki, Jikan ga tomatta ano hi.

2006-08-09 197. "It's Kakashi-sensei's birthday!" カカシ先生の誕生日だってばよ!Kakashi-sensei no tanjōbi dattebayo!

Im not sure on how to add them to the list, so anyone who knows how can I do it?

Be careful though, because there is a lot of controversy going on about these episodes, meaning that it's unknown if these episode names are real or not, so if you want to add those you can but be careful though. 24.188.203.181 23:56, 6 July 2006 (UTC)

BTW are they getting close to ending the filler? Its hard to tell by just the name of the episode. --Doom Child 14:01, 13 July 2006 (UTC)

Yes almost over. 24.188.203.181 18:14, 13 July 2006 (UTC)

ya i made a mistake like that recently

Summaries: Good or Bad?

Seeing that no one is bothering to write all the summaries and that having short sumamries below episodes makes it extremely difficult to browse through the list, I suggest that we remove all the existing summaries and link every one of the episode titles, even though there are a lot of red links. Articles are not going to be added if we don't start telling people that they are needed. And labeling each and every one of the arcs isn't bad. Having it in another article is good, but labeling it here distinguishes arcs from arcs, since it is nearlt impossible to tell episodes in different arcs apart by looking at their titles. And I don't understand why someone would not want the list to be organized. There is never too much information. --Doomed Rasher 00:21, 13 July 2006 (UTC)

Agreed. Summaries can be shoved off of existing episode articles for a start. I haven't been folowing the anime closely since the filler arc(s) started so I disqualify to write the summaries. --Cat out 09:47, 13 July 2006 (UTC)

Restoration of the labeling of the arcs

I have been thinking about this, and I want the arcs to be relabeled. Labeling the arcs makes it easier to distinguish between episodes, and it makes browsing much easier and organizes the list further as it is now. I don't want to hear any comments saying: "OMG! We all no taht theres a separate article w/ teh arc names, we dunt need joo labeling them 'gain!111one11shift1". The other article's quality is low and does not include the episodes of the arc. Having a bit of extra information doesn't hurt. --Doomed Rasher 21:16, 19 July 2006 (UTC)

It's unnecessary. We have a list of arc. It only further convolutes the episode list to add it here. Also, in repsonse to your assertion that the episodes aren't listed: "Exposition: Episodes 1-5, Chapters 1-8". You need to look next time. – Someguy0830 (Talk | contribs) 23:27, 19 July 2006 (UTC)
Hmm, must have been a recent event, because the last time all they had was the names of the arcs and not even a summary. Or was that just a vandalism edit? :P Oh well. --Doomed Rasher 01:08, 20 July 2006 (UTC)
Well maybe, if we labeled the arcs, we wouldn't need that page. Less pages to edit. I thought that was a preference. The Wretched 08:45, 15 October 2006 (UTC)

Naruto Episode Stubs

I've created stubs for all nonexistent episode articles. I also plan to check the existing episode articles and make sure they have the correct category and infobox information.

Please feel free to add plot summary or other information to these articles (and since we don't want to run afoul of copyvio please make sure you wrote it yourself or have permission to take it from somewhere else if you do...). I marked them as stubs, but feel free to remove that category once the articles have more information. -- Meersan 22:39, 13 August 2006 (UTC)

Is it just me or is individual episode articles an incredibly bad idea? They're prone to vandalism since nobody is going to monitor them (I for one can't be bothered clicking "Watch" on 200+ pages), and it's perfectly ok to have a one to two-sentence summary on the main list (or even none at all, as it was originally.) --Pentasyllabic 03:06, 19 August 2006 (UTC)
You may be right. However, there were already 40-50 episodes that had individual articles. Now they have valid and consistent information, and if a new user wants to contribute something they don't have to wrestle with infoboxes, templates, and prev/next links. Now that the other episodes have stubs it's more likely other users will contribute to them. It's not trivial for a new user to figure out how to add the right infoboxes and templates, but it is trivial to add an episode summary or other information. Other shows like Pokemon and South Park have articles for individual episodes, so it doesn't seem unusual for Naruto to have them, particularly when so many already existed. I don't intend to watchlist every single article, though I guess I could, but I do plan to go through and write summaries and manga comparisons for the new articles. I expect it may take some time to complete the entire project. That's why I invited others to help out on this page. Cheers, Meersan 04:02, 19 August 2006 (UTC)

200 and 201

200 and 201 are fake, remove them. Once we get OFFICAL titles for those episodes dont put them on. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 68.237.214.82 (talkcontribs) 22:44, 14 August 2006 (UTC)

That's Wikipedia policy. I've semi-protected the article so we can get by the rumor flare-up. ~MDD4696 20:44, 15 August 2006 (UTC)
sorry it looks like i got my information wrong i guess those episodes are fake
Just a note that we now have confirmed titles. -- Meersan 22:59, 17 August 2006 (UTC)
Damn, I was hoping those unconfirmed rumors would be true for once. – Someguy0830 (Talk | contribs) 23:09, 17 August 2006 (UTC)
No those rumors were fake. Thank you for adding the right titles. Im guessing that the fillers are going to end on 203. But thats just a guess. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by IamCool316 (talkcontribs) .

End of the fillers

Does anybody know whether episode 202/203 will be the end of the fillers? According to episode 176, "There are 26 more weeks of filler", meaning that the fillers SHOULD end at episode 202. - The preceding comment was made by Grevenko Sereth 19:23, 25 August 2006 (UTC)

That was false. Currently we do not know the end of the fillers. Some say it will end at the end of Season 8 and with one more title to be presented before 203(which is rumored to be the end of season 8) the likelyness of the fillers ending soon are slowing decreasing, unless 207 is the end of Season 8 then we got 5 more episodes until we officailly know the end of the fillers. IamCool316 18:48, 25 August 2006 (UTC)

It has been confirmed by Dattebayo that on the following dates these episodes will air.

9/13 - Episode 200
9/20 - Episode 201 (Final Filler)
9/27 - Episode 202 (Clip Show)

At this time, Naruto changes to THURSDAY.

10/05 - Confrontation between Love and Hate, Students and Teachers… Genin and Jounin all come together in this rampaging 90-minute special!
10/12 - Episode 204

Need Help for Episode Summaries

I have been doing all of the recent episode summaries for Naruto, and although they might not be the best, they are something. I would just like everyone here to know that if anyone can write some summaries for Season 3+ it would greatly benefit the community. I will probably resume episode summaries in the comin weeks. However, detailed episode accounts for the pages that link to the episodes are even more needed (b/c currently they link to a useless page with no info whatsoever). I do not plan to write detailed accounts b/c I would need to rewatch all the episodes and I do not believe that I am up for the challenge. Just putting forth my 2 cents and all. Oh, and feel free to correct or modify my summaries a bit to better articulate them or to correct any grammatical or canonical mistakes. The great kawa 07:52, 31 August 2006 (UTC)

Many Naruto episodes can be found at Youtube. Should we put links to the episode video at the articles about it? The Gerg 17:54, 3 September 2006 (UTC)

Can't, that's a copyright violation, even if it's not hosted by Wikipedia (see WP:EL). Sometimes a small amount of video used to demonstrate something about a show can be used under fair use, but definitely not a whole episode, let alone several. -- Ned Scott 18:45, 3 September 2006 (UTC)
What is the deal with video snippets? Are there any being used currently to illustrate anything to do with tv episodes? - Peregrinefisher 22:14, 3 September 2006 (UTC)
Actually, there are very few, if any in which the entire episode is show in one clip. This is due to YouTube's policy of video length (Unless you have special account, they can be no longer than 10 minutes). They are generally about 9 minutes long. Would this work? The Gerg 21:26, 6 September 2006 (UTC)
No, it wouldn't. Half an episode is just as bad, and goes completely beyond simple illustration. Images are allowed because they are used to illustrate a point or a character. Offhand, I can think of very few instances where actual video is considered acceptable. – Someguy0830 (Talk | contribs) 21:28, 6 September 2006 (UTC)
We could use/host a very short (like 20-30 seconds) clip if it illustrated something that words can't. However... I can't think of anything that would satisfy that condition. And of course, it would have to be in Ogg Theora format, which not very many people can view without installing some software. ~MDD4696 15:49, 14 September 2006 (UTC)

(that's not the actual title of the episode, that's the title of the special)

what is it if not an episode? dont delete it entirely. if it isnt part of season 8, then make a place for it properly. otherwise it is wasted in getting the kanji and romanji for it. better to have some partial data that is confirmed than no data at all just cause you dont know exactly what to classify it as Episode or Special is is airing on TV and we dont know if it fits the filler arc plot or not until it does air.

71.71.79.235 16:59, 14 September 2006 (UTC)

Meh, there's no reason we have to be the first people to have it listed. We can wait until we have conclusive proof that this is the episode title. ~MDD4696 17:03, 14 September 2006 (UTC)
well at least the info is here for when the time comes it can just be copy and pasted to the correct area for the episode list. 71.71.79.235 17:09, 14 September 2006 (UTC)
http://cal.syoboi.jp/tid/210/subtitle has been updated to episode 206. ~MDD4696 16:25, 15 September 2006 (UTC)
so everything is saying that this IS episode 203-205 including the japanese wikipedia site. http://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/Naruto so how do you classify 3 episodes that fall under a single title for wikipedia? that is if they dont have titles for each 24 minute segment/part of the special. 71.71.79.235 17:45, 15 September 2006 (UTC)
This is pure speculation but going by every twenty five episodes counting as a seaon, that they are trying to knock three episodes in one shot to close out the filler. It looks like a three episode special to celebrate the new timeslot on Thursdays, from the commercial at the end of ep 200. But seriously if it isn't specifically stated to be an OVA or whatever and it wasn't released in theatres then it's an episode.Rayfire 18:25, 15 September 2006 (UTC)
All the episodes in specials have individual titles. This one is not going to be an exception. The Splendiferous Gegiford 05:03, 16 September 2006 (UTC)

Episode Names

Ok, I know the goal of everyone else is to make this as English an western as possible, but I thought we were supposed to be using English translations not dubs. Translations are still in English and understandable. The English dub titles aren't the original, real titles and thus should probably be changed to the translations. Same thing with Ninja techniques. For example, Zaku Abumi's "Slicing Sound Wave" is really called Zankuha or "Decapitating Air Wave". It was probably changed in the dub due to the negative image one would get from the mention of decapitation. Also, the dub has the wrong kind of wave. It's an air wave, not a sonic one. So yeah, translations over dubs, please. 71.212.160.161 05:25, 16 September 2006 (UTC)

Translations aren't concrete, whereas dub names are. The English names and Japanese names are more or less the same anyway. The Splendiferous Gegiford 05:32, 16 September 2006 (UTC)
"Not Concrete"? How do you figure? 71.212.160.161 05:40, 16 September 2006 (UTC)
They can be translated several different ways. The dubs are the official titles in English. – Someguy0830 (Talk | contribs) 05:46, 16 September 2006 (UTC)
Then why don't we include both? The Wretched 06:44, 16 September 2006 (UTC)
Again, they can be translated several differnt ways. We have offical translations from Viz. Why include anything else? They mean the same thing. – Someguy0830 (Talk | contribs) 06:46, 16 September 2006 (UTC)

And why is it that every Japanese Character in Wikipedia is now replaced with a retarded-looking black bar? I hope someone's fixing this, 'cause it looks like crap. If not, then I'll do it myself. Either the Japanese is Japanese, or it's removed, that's all I'm gonna say. 71.212.160.161 05:42, 16 September 2006 (UTC)

You'll get reverted if you do crap like that. I can see the kanji just fine. The problem's on your end. – Someguy0830 (Talk | contribs) 05:44, 16 September 2006 (UTC)

Individual episode articles

I just came across one of the individual Naruto episode articles, and browsed a few more. It looks to me as if they contain nothing but a plot summary, and are thus violating WP:NOT (indiscriminate collection of info, point 7). Are there plans and possibilities to turn all of these articles into "real-world context and sourced analysis, offering detail on a work's achievements, impact or historical significance, not solely a summary of that work's plot"? If not, then these articles may well come up for deletion. I thought it better to mention it here first, since a lot of work has probably gone into them... Fram 14:34, 18 September 2006 (UTC)

That's very possible, and strictly speaking it should apply to things like Category:Pokémon episodes as well. Of course, as editors we can only fix the things we come across. It should be up to the community to determine whether there is a consensus. Since most of articles are stubs it may be possible that critical analysis will be filled in later as the articles evolve. I keep most of them on my watchlist and 5-10 receive updates on any given day, which would indicate there is a fair amount of activity and expansion going on. I thought I should respond since I created many of them as stubs, but I don't have a strong opinion either way. -- Meersan 21:32, 18 September 2006 (UTC)
Thanks. I'll keep an eye on them as well but for the moment I'll leave it as it is. I didn't mean to single those out, all articles on episodes, books in series, ... should follow these policies of course. Fram 04:54, 19 September 2006 (UTC)

Keep

Since the AfD part for the episode summaries resulted in a keep vote, should the individual episode articles have the AfD notice removed? shadzar|Talk|contribs 04:04, 2 October 2006 (UTC)

Special Toonami Only Aired Episode, (The Adventures of Naruto! ... Oh, and Everyone Else's, Too'

Shouldn't this toonami recap special at least be mentioned

It's not really an episode, so it's difficult to fit in. OVA section maybe? It's just a clip show so I'm not sure. – Someguy0830 (Talk | contribs) 05:19, 25 September 2006 (UTC)

Maybe make a Viz Media section for episodes that are NOT part of the original series, but created by foreign distributors? So as to not confuse the proper episode numbers for this two episode recap of the Forest and Prelim parts of the Chunin exam respectively. like number #51a and #51b with a footnote that they are not original airing episodes. 71.71.79.235 13:06, 25 September 2006 (UTC)

Episode 202

Why has episode 202 been delayed until October 5 when it is originally meant to air September 27? Is it to give the manga EVEN MORE time to ahead or what's the story? - The preceding comment was made by Grevenko Sereth 19:08, 28 September 2006 (UTC)

Do you mean episode 203? It may have to do with the new season starting and the switch to Thursday evenings. ~MDD4696 20:53, 28 September 2006 (UTC)

List appears to be incorrect

This list is not corresponding correctly with this one: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Naruto:_Shippuden_episodes_%28season_4%29 —Preceding unsigned comment added by 217.129.19.169 (talk) 21:59, 19 September 2010 (UTC)

uncut

I know nothing of anime or naruto. I just noticed that the national tv station (in Denmark) is showing naruto on the "children" channel and has a "naruto uncut" late night on one of the other channels. I went to wikipedia to see what the difference was (including, but not limited to, the obvious being "more violent" i assume). Also the uncut editions are subbed, where the children versions are dubbed. I hope/wish someone will write a section about the differences.

filler list

A large amount of people coming to this page want to know what episodes are filler. Filler is a self defined term with in the anime watching community, and episodes that fit that definition should be labeled as such. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Filler_(media)#Anime_series —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.74.66.92 (talk) 04:31, 30 March 2009 (UTC)

This has been discussed ad nauseum, and consensus is that filler doesn't get marked, for a variety of reasons. If you want to know what's filler and what isn't, do a Google search; there are plenty of fansites with that type of information. ダイノガイ?!」(Dinoguy1000) 20:31, 30 March 2009 (UTC)
at least there could be a section about it or maybe just a reference with a link to a particular good fansite having this info. 87.53.32.90 (talk) 23:38, 21 July 2010 (UTC)

While I agree the anime and manga are two distinct entities, I feel it's a shame that a lot of people watch the anime, discerning no difference between the original and non-original story content, enabling their opinion on the property as a whole to be affected by everything within the anime they're exposed to. I understand there are some that enjoy the filler content as well, but I'd be willing to bet they're a minority. All that aside, while I personally think it's a shame, I concede to the their respective independence, so I can understand the disapproval with the idea of marking "filler" next to each episode applicable. I'm going to go ahead and, as 87.53.32.90 suggested, add an external link to the bottom of the page outlining the filler and non-filler episodes, in hopes nobody will object. --Renegade78 (talk) 14:48, 7 March 2011 (UTC)

Incorrect Seasons!

Wikipedia is currently using an incorrect season list. Instead of the official seasons, it is using arcs. For more information on this topic, go to http://naruto.viz.com/news/index.php?id=99. To correct this error, I suggest two alternatives. 1) Replace the word season with arc wherever it appears on the page. 2) Redesign the page to fit the official, correct seasons. "'season 1' of the original Naruto covers episode 1-57, season 2 covers episodes 58-106, season 3 covers episodes 107-163, and season 4 covers episodes 164-220." [[1]] Rdh288 (talk) 17:45, 7 October 2009 (UTC)

Except Viz published the series as 16 box sets, and didn't call them arcs or seasons at release. So calling them official seasons is also off the mark, the fact they put seasons in quotes, suggests that they don't promote them as such. Dandy Sephy (talk) 17:47, 7 October 2009 (UTC)
What about the box set there relasing now ? ie Season 1 volume 1 and voume 2? although ti does not seem to follow the above and it only boxing 3 boxset together--Andrewcrawford (talk - contrib) 18:25, 7 October 2009 (UTC)
I looked at their shop page before posting that and it only had the old release, plus the first two shippuden. I did see the pack shot int he link above but it didn't register with my brain at the time. Essentially you've now got two completely different releases from Viz, and we should be careful about changing the entire list set just because they are repackaging the series. Dandy Sephy (talk) 18:36, 7 October 2009 (UTC)
Agreed there need ot be a lengthy dicussion about it, but personally it looks like viz are trying to group them into bunch of nearly 52 epsiode ie what they licensed and then dubbed at least that what i got from reading about but ther new boxsets would appear to suggest something else. Personal i say when the opening credits change that is techically japan way of saying a new season unless there is arcs--Andrewcrawford (talk - contrib) 20:22, 7 October 2009 (UTC)

This it is my opinion regards and I hope that he serves them not to undo my edition.--Ichigo9315 (talk) 20:42, 8 October 2009 (UTC)

YouTube is proof only that the episodes have been dubbed into English by the same group that did the first 209 episodes (and either way, the YT videos are illegal copyright infringement, and so cannot be linked regardless). The ANN encyclopedia is user-submitted and so not a reliable source. In addition, ANN's source for episode 210's airing was the November 2008 issue of Shonen Jump - however, every time SJ includes episode guides on upcoming broadcasts, it includes the disclaimer that "air dates and episode titles are not finalized" (or something to that effect); just because SJ shows an episode doesn't mean it will air when they say it will, if at all. I watched Naruto as it aired on Cartoon Network (my DVR was set to automatically record every episode), and I know for a fact that episode 210 never aired. ダイノガイ千?!? · Talk⇒Dinoguy1000 17:04, 9 October 2009 (UTC)

Titles

Why did the English episode titles: 2, 3, 7, 9, 20, 22, 24, 25, 26, 27, 31, 36, 39, 50 and 51 are different here and here. And this is only the first two seasons. Someone might be to harmonize these two seasons, and the other seven? 77.252.139.186 (talk) 21:52, 14 June 2010 (UTC)

Season Order

The current season order is incorrect, the lead section contradicts with the season order and there aren't any reference to back up the new order. See this template {{Japanese episode list}}, as stated in it, we should first consider a Japanese or English season box sets for season order but if that fails we should go with opening and closing theme song changes but if that also fails the list should be broken with each season containing approximately 26 episodes, and I think the previous list was done by breaking each season into 26 episodes since at that time season box sets were not available but now the case is different and we have season box sets so the list should be arranged according to it. Also, since the original order of season 1-9 has been changed to season 1-5 there have been many mistakes in seasons own articles too. For example the theme music description of season 2, there are some grammar mistakes caused due to changing the episodes order. If no one has any problem, I will be changing the season order according to VIZ's season box set and I would also like a little help if possible. CaseNotClosedYet (talk) 05:31, 17 January 2012 (UTC)

As no one has made any objections, I will start editing in 2days. CaseNotClosedYet (talk) 20:36, 23 January 2012
I noticed while editing that there is no Japan DVD releases listed. Can someone get references and add the information? Also I am not sure if Region 4 releases are supposed to be there in the article or not and Region 4 dvd information matches to that of US releases so can someone verify it and tell if it should be stay or not. CaseNotClosedYet (talk) 17:12, 27 January 2012 (UTC)
I don't believe there is a need to re-organize the division from the Japanese DVDs to match VIz Media's dvds. DragonZero (Talk · Contribs) 09:16, 26 February 2012 (UTC)

do you mean you think the region 4 dvds shouldnt be there? if so no they should all engish dvd releases or japanese dvd should be listed, even if the dvd release i the same it will be formatted differently for menus and trailer etc--Andrewcrawford (talk - contrib) 21:58, 26 February 2012 (UTC)
