What??? Budgie and Judas Priest came around too early to be NWOBHM bands. I think that they should have removal consideration.
- But didn't they initiate and then play NWOBHM? Allmusic states: "Judas Priest was one of the most influential heavy metal bands of the '70s, spearheading the New Wave of British Heavy Metal late in the decade."
- Only if "spearheading" means they started many years before any of the legit NWOBHM bands and had already released 5 studio albums and 1 live album prior to the 1979 start of the NWOBHM movement. They are somtimes, incorrectlyeven All Music Guide makes mistakes, caught up in the NWOBHM phase simply because British Steel had such an impact for the band at the same time as the legit NWOBHM bands(Iron Maiden, Def Leppard, Motorhead, Saxon etc) were just starting to emerge. Judas Priest actually fit in better with the "2nd Wave" of British heavy metal bands that came out after LZ, Deep Purple and Black Sabbath. Bands like Wishbone Ash, Thin Lizzy, Uriah Heep and Queen. JP started around the same time and had established a solid career long before NWOBHM started. 156.34.210.255 23:07, 3 July 2007 (UTC)

Removing bands
[edit]I will be removing bands that have no article, as an encyclopaedia linking to things it doesn't have information on is pretty much promotion; not to mention anyone can edit and add any band they wish, which'll lead to further self-promotion. As such, I'm removing all red links. I won't maintain the list, as I've no idea about NWOBHM artists, and their pages are all iffy. I'll just remove redlinked bands. --Dayn 07:55, 29 January 2007 (UTC)
Ozzy should NOT be considered NWOBHM... He himself and his mystic styling are NOT in this genre
