2006 (possibly others) Maximum Points

[edit]

According to what's currently in the Wikipedia article, the maximum points a driver can get per race is 190 (180 for the Win, +5 if he leads a lap, and another +5 if he leads the most laps).

However, as can be heard in these two videos, the presenter saying that a driver can only get a maximum of 156 points:

So, what's going on here? Is Wikipedia completely wrong? Where did the original author get these scoring tables to begin with? Raven-14 (talk) 20:09, 3 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

He says, the maximum points gain is 156 pts. And thats right. Because the race had 43 starters, so the driver on last place gets 34 points. The winner can get maximum 190 pts, so the difference to the last rank in the race is 156 points. --Mark McWire (talk) 01:31, 4 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Ah, that makes sense. Thank you for clearing that up. Raven-14 (talk) 23:39, 5 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
