[edit]This page was created and deleted before; see [[1]]. As you see, there are already much more extensive articles on Muslim history. I suggest turning this list into an infobox with links to the major states of Muslim history. This infobox could be imbedded in the pages about the Muslim empires and fulfill the same task more effectively. Alba 20:08, 26 February 2007 (UTC)
- Since it is hard to distinguish states from empires, I suggest we rename it "List of Muslim states". Such an article would also be more meaningful.VR talk 06:31, 28 January 2009 (UTC)
Terrible ['big empire']
[edit]I just want to find a link to an article about that "big" Islamic Empire that went from Spain to Arabia. But typing in "Islamic Empire" just redirects here. I don't want to know about the specific dynasties - I just want to read an article about that most famous Islamic Empire. Even a disambiguation page would be more helpful than this. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.1.52.183 (talk) 19:39, 28 April 2012 (UTC)
- That unsigned problem is not really a big deal. If your source is vague about some 'big empire from Spain to Arabia', it's the fault of that source (and deliberately being vague, about anything, borders on (anti-)propaganda), Wiki can't be held responsible for solving all vaguenesses in all sources. Anyway, perhaps your source meant the Umayyad Caliphate, which at times reached from Spain into Pakistan (I read in Wikipedia). --Corriebertus (talk) 10:24, 20 October 2017 (UTC)
You want to find an article on ‘that big Islamic Empire’ but don’t know what you’re referring to specifically, and this is somehow Wikipedia’s fault? There have been many Islamic empires and the ‘big’ ones haven’t been called ‘The Islamic Empire’ unambiguously. I think you might be looking for ‘the Caliphate’, from when it formed all or at least the bulk of the Islamic world. But there were a few of those: look up ‘the Caliphate’, the Rashidun Caliphate, Umayyad Caliphate, and Abbasid Caliphate. The others were smaller. Harsimaja (talk) 06:29, 14 December 2020 (UTC)
