Appreciating the amount of work that user Coemgenus has put in it and realizing that the featured list crowd demands references for each punctuation and line break (rewarding form >>> substance), I still would argue that the 158 links to each player's individual statistics are superfluous. A reference to the lists on the Major League Baseball and Baseballl-Reference.com sites (which pages contain all the data and seem pretty much redundant themselves) and to footnotes for Crawford and Collins should be sufficient. The article is now very bottom heavy, if such expression exists, to the point that it looks as if it is just a spoof to draw attention to the featured list's over the top reference requirements.
