All-Star Games 2001&2002 mixed up=
[edit]2001 featured the only tie game in its history not 2002 as indicated. Cal Ripken, Jr. did win the MVP for the game however despite the clear tie. I do not have the knowledge of the score and MVP for the 2002 American League victory. Would someone please find the score and MVP to have this updated please.
- No, they're not---2001 was 4-1 AL, and Cal Ripken, Jr. was the MVP. Source: Baseball Almanac, http://www.baseball-almanac.com/. Also, Cal Ripken, Jr.'s last game was October 6, 2001, so he obviously didn't play in the 2002 All-Star Game. 2002 was indeed the tie, featuring MY favorite All-Star moment: Torii Hunter leaping up to rob Barry Bonds of a home run, and Ichiro Suzuki uttering one of the few English words he knew at the time (hint: expletive deleted).
