An ideal lead image for this list might be a notable LGBT local participating in the Chicago Pride Parade. Scanning commons:Category:Chicago Pride Parade super quickly, nothing jumps out at the moment, but there may be some great images in some of the subcategories. Picture selections welcome! ---Another Believer(Talk)02:11, 16 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Another Believer: I know Lori Lightfoot was at the 2019 pride parade. She would be, in my mind, the ideal "notable LGBT local participating in the Chicago Pride Parade" since she is well known (at least in the city) and, as the mayor, is supposed to be the representative of Chicago to the wider world. Unfortunately, I cannot find any free media of her there, or really of any other notable person from Chicago at the parades. There was a near miss with Lea DeLaria, but she is from Southern Illinois, not Chicago. The only exception to this was this image of Miss Foozie, a Chicago drag performer. She does have a well sourced article and she is a distinctively Chicago character, but I would prefer a picture of someone a bit more notable. I would add her to the article right now, but I am too wikied out for the day. Mysterymanblue 09:31, 16 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I am proud to announce that the Second City's list of LGBT people is first in size on the English Wikipedia, beating out List of LGBT people from New York City - at least when you measure it in bytes. Most of this list was created by manually filtering through Category:LGBT people from Illinois and the results of this Wikidata query applied to Cook County. This process was completed a few minutes ago as I write this. Obviously, the list is still incomplete, but I am done adding new LGBT Chicagoans for now. Mysterymanblue 05:26, 22 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
