Edit Request for First openly lesbian actress to play an openly lesbian character on television
[edit]"Married With Children", Season 11, Episode 20, April 28, 1997, "Lez Be Friends," Marcy Darcy's identical cousin Mandy is openly lesbian. Mandy is played by Amanda Bearse, who has been openly and publicly lesbian since 1993, and thus openly lesbian at the time of this episode's filming and airing. This episode precedes the "Puppy Episode" of "Ellen," which aired just two days later on April 30, 1997, making Bearse the rightful holder of this title. Sources: [1] [2] [3]

Move Gheorghi Cosmin Teodor (under 1904) to 1906, change name to Karl M. Baer as referenced in the source. CooleraGamer (talk) 08:11, 12 August 2023 (UTC)
- Not done: it's not clear what changes you want to be made. Please mention the specific changes in a "change X to Y" format and provide a reliable source if appropriate. -Lemonaka 02:42, 13 August 2023 (UTC)
US-centric
[edit]This list is very US-centric. I've done a tiny bit to correct the imbalance (the first lesbian kiss on TV was in the UK in 1974). Stronach (talk) 15:37, 3 November 2023 (UTC)
- The first lesbian kiss was in Australia between Vicki Stafford (Judy Nunn) and Felicity Baker (Helen Hemingway) in the pilot episode of The Box in 1974, two weeks before the kiss in Girl on the BBC. The pilot episode of The Box, containing the lesbian kiss, was broadcast on 11 February 1974 in Australia, and the episode of Girl containing the kiss was broadcast on 25 February 1974 in the UK. I'm not sure how to edit a protected page, but this is worthy of updating - even to mention both as they were in close succession. QueerAcademic (talk) 04:30, 23 September 2024 (UTC)
