Garbage

[edit]

I know I'm skirting some cherished Wikipedia policies here, but this article is total crap. I made a mistake by merging information horrendous articles written seperately for each character by one user in particular. However, the mess has grown from there. There is way too much fancruft here. Case-in-point: "The blade he wields is red, requiring three Shards to form." This the most trivial of trivial information. Then we get into pure speculation: "It is highly possible that Jiko has the key spirit of fire as his spirit beats both of sara's key spirits." Total garbage. Let's get rid the extremely trivial and speculative information. Let's follow the Wikipedia guidelines about fictional article notability and guidelines on writing about fiction. --Kunzite 04:33, 6 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It is total rubbish, I'm prepared to try and edit it as best I can. I just watched episode 44 today. Do we really need a detailed analysis of what happens to each character. Wouldn't it just be enough to elaborate the entire story on the main page when the series is finished?deejaylobo 22:08, 12 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I've already started removing some of the fancruft on the main page, but this article also has a lack of consistency that boggles the mind... Under the sections about Gale and Aisha it mentions a "Keith"... Yet his title doesn't even mention keith as being an alternative spelling (should probably be listed as the only one...) also, Noa, Noah, etc. etc... not to mention it went back to things like Tempura instead of Templer...--Drantin 01:53, 16 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Yes. People like to play the "let's change the name so it matches the fandub" game. FYI: Some names appear in English on some of the TCG merchandise: Zed, Roya, Noa, Mickey, and Robes (or Robespeirre). The site also explains the six "elements" of Kiba: Light (Amil Gaul/Templer), Dark (Pronimo/Zymot), Law (Sachura/Neotopia), Anarchy (/?Tusk), Cyber (/Ulbaks), Nature (/Kalab-fu,?Seekers). here --Kunzite 09:06, 19 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
So are we keeping the whole goddamned story of each character? Even if we are, the story of each charater is too detailed. How about a seperate article for the story? And maybe, a smal article for each episode, kinda like the Lost articles.deejaylobo 02:50, 20 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I hope not. User:Kunzite/List_of_Kiba_characters How's this for a start? I started another translation project for my personal site, but I can work on this one too. --Kunzite 04:17, 20 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Due to the detailed information on each character and the need for more, I believe that the most rational action would be to categorize each character within their corresponding country - thus images can be elaborated more safely and overcrowding will be a negated factor. If such actions would be taken, Wikipedia would most easily be seen as a more organized and rational society that doesn't need to shove info into a large whole to prove it supposedly knows what it is doing. There is still at least another eight episodes left in this series, and the information will obviously need expansion. For an ordinary anime consistent of twenty-six episodes, this action would not need to be taken; but considering the fact that this anime needs to elaborate on information covering over fifty episodes or more, I believe that articles such as Characters of Naruto would provide a good example for this articles needed evolution. Besides, shoving information into a large whole and yet lacking the needed information is only making Wikipedia seem pretentious -- it is our duty to make Wikipedia not so. --User:Tathagata Buddha - 20 February (EST)
I think there is flawed reasoning with your argument: The need for more detailed information on characters. Reproducing the plot event-for-event in a character list format is not only bad writing, it goes against core Wikipedia policies and guidelines. (WP:NOT, WP:FICT, and WP:WAF -- I've cited them on your user talkage in more detail.) Naruto is a horrible example to copy. Try picking a "recognized article" to copy the style. There is no reason that we can't have a consise character description without retelling the entire plotline within the context of each character.
Let's take Madlax for example. The main characters of the series are presented nicely in the main article. Further information is provided on the characters subpage in short consise paragraphs. Death Note gets a bit more into character cruft, but the paragraphs on each character aren't insanely long. Kiba may have more chartacters, but most of them die very quickly. We should not need to add additional text to make the images line-up precisely. --Kunzite 18:42, 20 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I truly do see your logic, Kunzite. To go along with Wikipedia's standards, I believe it best if individual articles were created to elaborate on specific plotlines within each episode. Thus, within Hugh for example, you could say "During the Conquering of Neotopia arc, Hugh would end up being killed." Then following this, you could show in parentheses a link to a specific arc or episode that would elaborate the information needed. I believe such an action could work well to combine trivial information with general information, even though it may be more frustrating. -- User:Tathagata Buddha, 20 February (EST)
Well, I think that would work in the future but, for now let's get this Character page fixed. Kunzite, I like what you've done. That's how I think the page should be. I've written a bit about Noa and Roya on my user page. It would be nice if you could check it out and give me some feedback. So, maybe we do it like this - Fix this page-->Start Plot and/or Episode articles. Maybe eventually move onto Spirit articles once the series is finished.deejaylobo 11:31, 21 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Can some one please fix this! the article is so poor, for lack of a nicer word. There is all this plot summary that does not need to be here. I cut out all the garbage in the key spirit part, but there is so much to fix. I plan to add more to that part too once the series has its final in two weeks. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Ggg101 (talkcontribs) 00:20, 17 March 2007 (UTC).[reply]

Roia/Roya?

[edit]

Hey, isn't the name should be Roia and not Roya? 165.21.83.247 15:12, 9 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Technically speaking, either spelling would be accurate I think, as both are accurate spellings of the river's name, just from differing languages (French and Italian). Roia seems to be the more prevelently used of the two for the character, however.172.166.162.53 17:48, 11 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Country Names

[edit]

For now, I changed the names so as to be consistent with the names on the main KIBA article. If anyone has any objections, you may change it back, but must provide a decent source. DarkAngel007 21:01, 13 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Merge and cleanup

[edit]

List of Kiba characters has a similar, and sometimes identical content with this article. The articles can be merged, shortened by removing unnecessary info and cleaned up. I underline that already the list is the result of a triple merger. -- Magioladitis 13:17, 13 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Merge done. -- Magioladitis 00:13, 21 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Should a separate list for the spirits of Kiba be created? Technically speaking, they are not really characters. Also, Tasker, which currently is under Key Spirits, is not a Key Spirit, but for lack of better place to put it, I just left it where it is.Imnowei (talk) 23:32, 8 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Have left a message on the (seemingly) dormant Kiba wikia 'in case anybody spots it.' Jackiespeel (talk) 22:15, 18 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
