Organization
[edit]This page should IMHO be categorised by relationship to Jeeves and Wooster, not by book, as many minor characters turn up in multiple books. I started the family section with material saved from Claude and Eustace's own page, which will probably be deleted. Squiddy | (squirt ink?) 15:44, 19 January 2007 (UTC)
- IMO it should be like the other "guides" in the navbox, i.e. an alphabetical compendium of characters. This allows each section/character to have a redirect sending to the mini-articles we keep here (they wouldn't sustain its own page). It also allows to merge-and-redirect the myriad of small articles that won't grow because they are about characters in one or two stories only, or that have been silently deleted. That's what I'm currently doing. — Komusou talk @ 01:05, 4 October 2007 (UTC)
- I agree with @Squiddy that this page should be organized by relationship to Jeeves and Wooster, like in the List of P. G. Wodehouse characters. Alphabetical list is very hard to navigate when you don't already know the character's name. Also, does this article qualify as a list with the current structure?
- Proposal:
- (a) Make this article a proper list. Move the Jeeves and Wooster section from List of P. G. Wodehouse characters to here. Redirect here from that article accordingly.
- (b) Move mini-articles of characters who don't have their own pages to a new article titled "Minor Jeeves and Wooster characters" to address @Komusou's concern above.

Stilton
[edit]What about Stilton Cheesewright? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Brood123 (talk • contribs) 02:54, 3 October 2007 (UTC)
- Why would anyone insist on meeting the pumpkin-headed oaf is quite beyond my ken, but I have nonetheless framed him into the gallery, as well as Percy Gorringe, la Morehead, and the Trotters. Please note, however, that this page is very much a recent work-in-progress, and is thus missing a lot of characters, wot? — Komusou talk @ 01:05, 4 October 2007 (UTC)
Bertie Wooster?
[edit]Under what criteria would Bertie Wooster be a "Minor character in the Jeeves stories"? Rachel Pearce (talk) 16:23, 6 April 2008 (UTC)
- Good point. This page really should be moved to Characters in the Jeeves stories. StAnselm (talk) 23:26, 6 April 2008 (UTC)
Fictional Characters
[edit]Why must each and every character be listed as 'fictional character' with a link to the article on fictional characters? Surely the one link in the introduction is enough. 91.107.72.143 (talk) 21:35, 30 October 2008 (UTC)
Request for comment on articles for individual television episodes and characters
[edit]A request for comments has been started that could affect the inclusion or exclusion of episode and character, as well as other fiction articles. Please visit the discussion at Wikipedia_talk:Notability_(fiction)#Final_adoption_as_a_guideline. Ikip (talk) 11:18, 3 February 2009 (UTC)
Merge with Clementina (character), Lady Glossop and Mrs. Scholfield
[edit]While some Jeeves characters are sufficiently notable to justify their own articles, others are not. Clementina (character), Lady Glossop and Mrs. Scholfield belong to the second category and their articles should therefore be merged into this list. Neelix (talk) 19:51, 17 October 2010 (UTC)
Delia, Lady Glossop ??
[edit]Nowhere does this character appear in the P.G. Wodehouse stories - she's not even mentioned. Lady Glossop, Sir Roderick Glossop's wife, only appears in the Jeeves & Wooster television program. Shouldn't this section be deleted altogether ?

Chuffy
[edit]I need some clarification on one of Bertie's friends. Is it: Marmaduke "Chuffy" Chuffington, 5th Baron of Chuffnell, Lord Chuffnell? Caztorp (talk) 12:22, 29 July 2018 (UTC)
- I can't find any mention of the name "Chuffington" in the books. Chuffy's surname is never specified, as far as I can tell. As for his title, it's "5th Baron Chuffnell", not "5th Baron of Chuffnell". English barons don't have "of" in their title, unlike dukes or earls. While you can call him Lord Chuffnell, it seems redundant to list it after his title, since "Lord" is just a generic term for a member of the English peerage. Miles26 (talk) 20:45, 29 July 2018 (UTC)
- Thank you for responding. I couldn't find that name in a book either. But on the back cover of my copy of Thank you, Jeeves it says "seeking refuge in Lord Chuffington's cottage..." which seems odd. Googling gives a handful of hits. It must have come from somewhere.. Section names
[edit]I propose renaming the sections from the full names of the characters to their common names, the way the sections would be titled if they were articles. For example, 'G. D'Arcy "Stilton" Cheesewright' would become just 'Stilton Cheesewright'. This would change the order in some cases, but I think it would make it easier to recognize and find characters in the list. Miles26 (talk) 19:57, 3 April 2020 (UTC)
I've made the change. Miles26 (talk) 08:24, 16 April 2020 (UTC)
Reorganization
[edit]Starting a new thread so it doesn't get lost above. I think that this page should be organized by relationship to Jeeves and Wooster, like in the List of P. G. Wodehouse characters. The alphabetical list is very hard to navigate when you don't already know the character's name. Also, does this article qualify as a list with the current structure?
Proposal:
(a) Make this article a proper list. Move the Jeeves and Wooster section from List of P. G. Wodehouse characters to here. Redirect here from that article accordingly.
