@The revealer: I thought it would be best to respond here to your question at User talk:Discospinster#Bibliography of books defending Islam – I hope that's okay. I think the list should be limited to books which are primarily concerned with defending Islam, yes. Otherwise I imagine it could become quite unwieldy, and could be very difficult to delineate what constitutes a defence – presumably even books critical of Islam have some nice things to say about it. On the other hand, looking at the current list, there don't seem to be very many that would remain if the scope were to be narrower. As such, it may still be the case that deleting the list would be the best solution. – Arms & Hearts (talk) 17:14, 20 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I'll remove the books which don't have defending Islam as a primary objective. But I think those books which have defending Islam as a primary objective but not a Wikipedia article, should be kept (if the page itself is kept, though). Isn't the author having a Wikipedia page enough? I mean, if the author is notable enough to be in Wikipedia, then his/her book must be notable enough too (unless he/she has many many books). The revealer (talk) 03:03, 21 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Notability doesn't automatically carry over from authors to their works (as WP:NINI puts it, "notability of a parent entity or topic ... does not always imply the notability of the subordinate entities"), but including books that meet the notability criteria for books but which don't yet have an article in the list seems reasonable. – Arms & Hearts (talk) 12:00, 21 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
