Only those film series with 3 or more films

There is no particular reason is not given for 3 or more, and such solicited reasons to keep away informations on list pages is no way useful to reader. So, the lines are commented to hide the lines which causes the unwarranted classification and exclusion of information to the reader

@Harithvh: Sorry for this really late reply. I was very busy.

So, the reasons why I kept a minimum of three films in a film series limit are:

i) In many film series with just 2 films, the 1st film was a hit but the 2nd one was a flop. Because of this reason, the making of a 3rd film was found unfeasible. It led to the failure of that film series.

ii) Two films with similar names may not form a film series. For example, Happy Husbands and Husbands in Goa are not related in any way.

iii) There are literally too many film series with just 2 films. Listing all of them would be next to immpossibe and futile.

I liked the way you divided the film series into "Story-line/Character followup" and "Common diegetic world" but can you be very sure about it without actually watching those films? I might or might not reply to your messages soon. - Jayadevp13 09:39, 14 July 2014 (UTC)

• i) Box office performance should not be a criteria for making a film list
• ii) If you are sure Happy Husbands and Husbands in Goa does not have a similar diegetic situation like many Indian and foreign films, the same shall be removed accordingly.
• iii) There are too many films with 2 films in the series, listing all of them is not / wouldn't be impossible, its just difficult - should that be an excuse to exclude the information ?, I don' think so, you shall consult with Admins for further info, if required so.

I didn't watch all of them, but did watch a considerable no. of color films.
Let's fill up the pages with tons and tons of information that are useful one way or another.

@Harithvh: OK. I accept the fact that there is a point in what you have said. I am really not sure about Happy Husbands and Husbands in Goa. Even though Saji Surendran directed both the films, it was never released as a film series (it is what I believe, no guarantee). And since you haven't watched all those films you cannot be sure if you are giving the right information (with regard to "Story-line / Character followup" and "Common diegetic world"). Isn't giving wrong information worse than giving less information? Also films which haven't been released should never be mentioned (ex. Vishwaroopam 2). It will lead to many more such cases where films which haven't even started filming or not even announced by director/producer findin their way into this article because of fans. - Jayadevp13 04:57, 18 July 2014 (UTC)

If the information(s) provided on a page is / are wrong for sure, anybody can edit the same accordingly. I’nt know who added Viswaroopam 2, I’nt wanna question it either – I’d rather vouch to give the information under Notes until it get released.

@Harithvh: I oppose even giving the information under notes because it will only open a can of worms. I am sorry if it felt that I was accusing you of adding that. In the same way, Kochadaiiyaan film series has also been added. If you are online now, please don't make any changes to the article for an hour cause I will be making some and it may lead to edit conflict. - Jayadevp13 03:06, 21 July 2014 (UTC)

Chhota Bheem film series

This is with regard to the Chhota Bheem film series. Most of the films in the series were not released in a movie theatre. The first one to be released in a theatre was Chhota Bheem and the Curse of Damyaan. The starting of this article clearly states that only those films released in theatre are included and/or are to be included. Hence the changes should be made accordingly by someone since I am not sure which all films of the series were released in theatre. - Jayadevp13 16:51, 12 January 2015 (UTC)

Azhagiya Ravanan-Ambujakshan film series

To editor Jayadevp13:
This is regarding the removal Azhagiya Ravanan-Ambujakshan film series at 06:36, 25 October 2015‎, the collection-of-films are eligible to be included in this page. The removal w.r.t strategies towards spin-off shall not be executed here as one of the characters of the first film is reprised by the same actor in the second film, so this definitely comes under character follow-up. The categorization of film as spin-off by the makers in media is irrelevant in the context of Wikipedia, a similar case can be noted in the case of The King & the Commissioner, the director of which openly said to media that film is not a sequel either to his earlier related films. You may revise the removal of the above said series, if required with further discussions, and shall also opt for nominations from the various readers, to resolute on the action per nominations.

@Harithvh: I agree that Sreenivasan has acted in the role of Ambujakshan in both the films. Earlier while removing the film series I had not noticed it. I had just considered the second film as a spin off. I haven't watched the movie so could you verify if N.P. Ambujakshan of Chirakodinja Kinavukal and Ambujakshan of Azhakiya Ravanan were the same characters. Like if their profession/interests were same in both the movies or if there was any mention of incident from the previous film by N.P. Ambujakshan. Why I am asking you to do this is because I didn't find any link between the two characters in plot summaries. It could be that only the name of the characters are same and there is no actual link between them. However this is not the case with The King & the Commissioner where the lead characters from the the two films Commissioner and The King reprised their respective roles as even mentioned by the film director. I am pretty sure that this is a character followup, and a not a similar case of Uppukandam Brothers and Kottayam Kunjachan (if need an example for the case you think this is) as you implied with pointing the name similarities. It's so sad the edits are made as "I had just considered" and "It could be that", please do make the changes if it's wrong for sure, as I mentioned earlier. You may opt for nominations from the various readers, to resolute on the action per nominations. I am not interested in this now. Just keep me uninformed. Unofficial Sequels

There are lot of unofficial sequels in Bollywood. Like the latest Street Dancer 3D is the unofficial sequel to ABCD 2. So should we add them on the list or not? And there are literally tons of unofficial sequels in just Bollywood. If you have to remove then in this list there would be next to nothing. Sorry for my bad English. I demand a Separate page for Bollywood Sequels and Franchises

I demand a Separate page for the Sequels and Franchises in Bollywood. Because there a more than 100 of Film sequels and Franchises are existing Bollywood. And Bollywood releasing 10+ official and unofficial Sequels Every Year. So the list is Keep increasing. RYAZZ (talk) 15:21, 7 March 2020 (UTC)
