EVA 21

[edit]

Regarding the citation needed for EVA 21 as requested by GW Simulations. The docking area of Zvezda itself is also an airlock that can be used for EVAs if I remember correctly. It's just very cumbersome because it blocks all connections between the russian and the 'US' section. So it is indeed not a Pirs EVA, but a Zvezda EVA. --TheDJ (talkcontribs) 01:43, 1 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

  • Thanks. I guessed it would probably be something like that, but I wasn't sure. It might be an idea to use a new symbol for this one, or anyone looking down the list quickly, without reading the descriptions, might still be confused. --GW 11:33, 1 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Reference?

[edit]

The reference for Expedition 20, EVA 2 hardly seems adequate -- it's just one page of a powerpoint, and it's not even clear that it refers to this EVA. Can we get something better?RandomCritic (talk) 07:28, 12 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Query

[edit]

Nobody seems to be updating this article; it's already missing several spacewalks that have taken place at the ISS; and as nearly all spacewalks (and all for the foreseeable future) are taking place at the ISS, it seems pretty much redundant with the chronological List of spacewalks and moonwalks 1965-1999 and List of spacewalks since 2000.

So: is there a good reason for this article to exist?RandomCritic (talk) 17:24, 15 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Well, there's a big push ongoing to get the article updated with recent EVAs (I believe 2009 is now complete), so we're working on that. As for the reason for its existence in the first place; consistency. ISS related articles link in here, and it has particular relevance to the Assembly of the International Space Station article, as it allows the full EVA history of the station to be viewed in a flowing manner, without interruptions from other EVAs that might take place. Colds7ream (talk) 01:33, 16 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Also, the chronological list does not go into the detail that this list does with the Russian spacewalks performed from the ISS since they have been performed from two places Pirs and the transfer compartment of Zvezda and in the future from Poisk. Also, the Chinese will be undoubtedly performing spacewalks in the future on their own space stations. I would not count-out their EVA last year as a one-off thing. I've updated this article recently but it could still use some help with referencing along with the statistics in the lead. -MBK004 03:14, 16 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Russian EVAs

[edit]

Does anyone know why NASA calls some spacewalks "Russian EVA"'s? They have started numbering these spacewalks; for example "Russian EVA-22" is number 124 on our list, which took place on June 5, 2009. They used Orlan space suits, but by my count there had already been more than 22 such spacewalks.. anyone know what the deal is? Mlm42 (talk) 19:02, 27 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Media

[edit]

from main ISS page, copy and paste to explain,.. At the end of completion of the USOS in May 2011, media organizations such as msnbc[1] and Yahoo[2], reported construction of the ISS station as a whole to be complete[3]. However, even NASA's consolidated Launch manifest lists the Russian Laboratory module Nauka, as due for launch in May 2012 on a 3R Russian Proton Rocket. [4] Addition of the Russian multipurpose laboratory module with European robotic arm (ERA) will complete the station.Penyulap talk 16:59, 4 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Flags

[edit]

Any reason why from #165 onwards, the entries have flags against them? Lugnuts Dick Laurent is dead 20:06, 23 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The inconsistency is strange. I suppose it's more informative to have them than not, so I guess I'll go ahead and add flags to the entries before #165. --Philpill691 (talk) 02:04, 22 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Doubt

[edit]

@Geomodelrailroader when is the Eva to add the means of attachment of large payloads to nauka???? You wrote the last Eva listed in planned Eva's as final Eva to outfit nauka but where's mention of means of attachment of large payloads. Likewise please give the update of ERA portable workpost (located on rassvet but will be moved to nauka like rtod radiator and science airlock) Eva.Chinakpradhan (talk) 02:27, 16 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
