- List of IIT Kanpur people → List of IIT Kanpur alumni
- List of IIT Delhi people → List of IIT Delhi alumni
- List of IIT Bombay people → List of IIT Bombay alumni
- List of IIT Madras people → List of IIT Madras alumni
- List of IIT Roorkee people → List of IIT Roorkee alumni
- List of IIT (BHU) Varanasi people → List of IIT (BHU) Varanasi alumni
– Using the word people is clunky and also grammatically incorrect. Not sure if a WP:MOS already exists for list of alumni articles, but similar articles I can find (List of Massachusetts Institute of Technology alumni and List of BITS Pilani alumni) seem to consistently use alumni. - Oppose for at least Kanpur since the article also lists notable staff members. — Ceso femmuin mbolgaig mbung, mellohi! (投稿) 23:27, 2 March 2023 (UTC)
- Comment "List of [University] people" is not grammatically incorrect and is a frequently used title format when the list includes staff, alumni, and other people related to the university. Examples of this in use include: List of Harvard University people, List of University of California, Los Angeles people, List of University of Cambridge people, List of University of Southern California people, List of University of Maryland, College Park people, etc etc. Freedom4U (talk) 03:00, 6 March 2023 (UTC)
- I stand corrected on both counts. There was no Wikipedia policy in place for names such as these, so I relied on my knowledge of English language, which apparently was wrong. And somehow I did not manage to find the rest of the articles listed above.
- Going through all of these articles, I can see each of them seem to have faculty or staff members listed in some form, so I'll withdraw the proposal. Soni (talk) 08:39, 8 March 2023 (UTC)
