Put the correct Season Six titles back.
[edit]Someone has changed the episode list to what was shown on a whiteboard in an OLD video on the CBC site. Bizzybody (talk) 14:01, 20 November 2012 (UTC)
- And someone changed it back. Thanks! Bizzybody (talk) 03:36, 23 November 2012 (UTC)
Written and Directing sections don't match
[edit]I tried to fix it but it will take too long. Perhaps someone will do that in the future. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 64.228.41.54 (talk) 20:40, 6 April 2015 (UTC)
I would try to fix this myself, but I'm not clear what is wrong with those sections. Could you explain a little further? Sailor7sakura (talk) 11:39, 29 August 2017 (UTC)
Season 9 dates.
[edit]Google list of heartland episodes and it shows episode 1 on the 4th and episode 2 on the 11th of October, 2015. Bizzybody (talk) 03:04, 26 September 2015 (UTC)

Television film
[edit]Is there any particular reason why the Heartland "television film" isn't listed in chronological order either in the 'Series overview' table, or in the episodes listings itself?... If there's no objection in the next few weeks, I will probably move it myself. --IJBall (contribs • talk) 22:23, 7 February 2016 (UTC)
- Go for it. Should be between season 2 and 3, listed like the Christmas Specials are on many UK TV shows. Bizzybody (talk) 09:22, 4 April 2016 (UTC)
Season 10 Series Overview Link
[edit]Under series overview whats the proper coding to make the link '10' (Season 10) shortcut down to Season 10 Episode List
TwinklingStar7 (talk) 02:00, 24 October 2016 (UTC)TwinklingStar7
Hi there, if you just hover over where it says 2.11 or Season 10, it should come up for you on your screen (probably down near the taskbar). What I get doing this is en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Heartland_episodes#Season_10_.282016-17.29 Hope that helps! Had to figure that one out myself a few days ago. Cheers!
EDIT: I should mention the way you use that code is to add the part including the # and what follows it to wherever you put the page link, so for example List_of_Heartland_episodes#Season_10_.282016-17.29|Season 10 (all in the double square brackets, of course) would give you the appropriate link on the page where you want to use it.

Basic season 11 info begun.
[edit]Anyone want to fill in the blanks? I picked the color from the 11th season on the Gunsmoke episode list. Titles are from the CBC's series website. Bizzybody (talk) 06:19, 23 October 2017 (UTC)
Copy edit notes
[edit]I've responded to the {{copy edit}} tag on this article, which I believe was placed in response to the plot expansions from a single-purpose IP account. A few things of note:
- This list article is very long. WP:LENGTH and WP:SPLITSIZE explain the issues with long articles and how to split them into manageable size.
- Plot summaries are meant to give an overview of the work so that the reader can understand other aspects of the work in an article. There are perennial discussions about whether stand-alone list articles like this should include plot summaries. When you look at similar subjects that have matured, they often split them into season articles, with the plot summaries supporting the production, critical reception, themes, etc., for that season. I do find it troubling that even the main Heartland (Canadian TV series) article lacks a Production or Critical reception section, and I hope some attention will be given to those aspects to make more well-rounded articles.
- When you do have plot summaries in list form, MOS:TVPLOT recommends no more than 200 words of plot summary per episode. Providing plot summaries with too much detail can make it a derivative work and raise copyright issues. So please be careful about that.
I've seen articles like this nominated for deletion for concerns like the above, so if you don't want to risk losing all the work you put into this, please consider rounding out the article and keeping it in line with policy.
As for the copy edit itself:
- There were a few ambiguous or confusing places in the text which I marked with {{explain}}, {{clarify}}, etc. I marked the worst passages with {{incomprehensible inline}}.
- There was some informal language. I think I fixed most of that, but there were a few instances of
take up
where I didn't understand the intended meaning. Towards the end, there were a lot of places wherestep up
was used with different meanings, which was confusing.open up
can mean "to confide" or "to begin shooting", radically different meaning which aren't clear from context. - Almost all of the characters are referred to by their first/given names. One exception is Dr. Tricia Virani who was always referred to as Dr. Virani. We should refer to characters how they are usually referred to on the show, using that as their common name. (I changed Cass to Cassandra for consistency and Case to Casey; I don't care which ones are used, but the same form should be used throughout.)
- I capitalized
Extreme Team
throughout as a proper name. I wasn't sure about Maggie's diner, whether diner is part of the name. - Be careful with commentary like
Lou makes it all about herself
which is more of an interpretation than an objective description of the plot. Just describe what you see on screen; critical commentary with citations to reliable secondary sources can go in other sections. - There are a couple summaries which are still around 215 words. These had sections where I wasn't sure of the intended meaning and didn't want to change it. Specifically, "Life is a Highway", "Severed Ties", "Fearless" and "You Just Know".
- Be careful that the plot summaries are not log lines or teasers. The purpose is to summarize what happened in the episode, not to elicit potential viewers into watching the episode.
and falls over when Harley is startled
"Harley" isn't mentioned elsewhere. If this is a horse, just say "his horse" instead of naming it.
If you want to discuss any of this, please {{ping|Reidgreg}}. Thanks, and I hope this is of help. – Reidgreg (talk) 22:11, 30 March 2021 (UTC)
