The content of the current page was previously on the page Hanafi, which I believe is irrelevant to the principle purpose of the Hanafi page. The Hanafi page should primarily focus on the principle methodology used in the madhab. Given the length of notable people who followed Hanafi madhab, I felt it appropriate to create a new page for the purpose.
The list will be re-sorted into chronological order in due time.

While I don't necessarily agree that a page for a madhhab doesn't cover followers of the madhhab, you're absolutely right that the sheer number of Hanafis does warrant this page being separate. In fact, I think this list is probably a bit short - there have to be more Hanafis with articles on Wikipedia. Another question: should there be a brief, one-sentence description of each person along with lifespan, or leave the list bare as it currently is?
