Lisa Thomas
[edit]Can I ask the source of Lisa's surname? It wasn't mentioned in the series itself if I recall, was it revealed on the website or an interview somewhere? Paul 730 16:32, 24 December 2008 (UTC)
It is given in the extras section of the Halloween: Nightdance trade paperback.Mm2dylan (talk) 07:36, 2 October 2012 (UTC)
The Title and the entire page
[edit]I want to change the title of this page to Characters in the First Halloween Saga. This page should only include characters as seen in the films started by John Carpenter and ending in Halloween: Resurrection. Characters from these films that were expanded in canonical comics shall be listed. No characters from Halloween III: Season of the Witch or Rob Zombie's two Halloween films should have inclusion. Those characters and story lines need their own page for the sake of preventing constant confusion. And, characters appearing from comics based on the original Halloween saga, not seen in any of the films should have their own characters page as well. So, let us stick with the Halloween characters, major and secondary, appearing in Halloween parts 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8. Also, this page should be broken down into Major Characters and Secondary Characters so the format is neat and orderly.
Major characters such as Laurie Strode, Michael Myers, Dr. Samuel J. Loomis, and Jamie Lloyd have their own Wikipedia article. So, if they are mentioned on this page, it should be brief but concise. The explanation should be able to link the reader to that page.
Example:
Laurie Strode
Laurie Strode is the principal female protagonist in the First Halloween Saga, in film and literature. She is the younger sister of serial killer Michael Myers. She was born in Haddonfield, Illinois in 1961. Her biological parents are Donald and Edith Myers, and her adoptive parents are Morgan and Pamela Strode. She is the mother of two: Jamie Lloyd and John Tate.
If you will not object to my suggested changes, then I will proceed as soon as possible. Let me know what you think.

- I have to say I disagree with just about all of your suggestions. See WP:IN-U, Wikipedia is not concerned with issues of canon and continuity, but is supposed to be written from a real-world perspective. To that end, a single article for characters in the Halloween film series is quite sufficient, and splitting it up based on fictional timelines is completely unnecessary. Even the way you suggest writing the profiles based on your Laurie Strode example is wrong, with emphasis on trivial in-universe details like birthdates and next-of-kin. That is not how we write about fiction. See Characters of Smallville for an example of a well-written character list/article. If you do want to write about the Halloween characters from an in-universe perspective, I would encourage you to check out the Horror Film Wiki over at Wikia. Paul 730 20:28, 11 January 2009 (UTC)
Cynthia Anne Myers
[edit]There is no "Anne" in her name. We are given no middle name in Sam, it's just Cynthia Myers. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mm2dylan (talk • contribs) 07:42, 2 October 2012 (UTC)
Page name and potential move
[edit]This page was recently moved to "Halloween (franchise) characters", and I'm trying to figure out why it isn't simply at List of Halloween characters. I see that Trekker recently created and directed that page to "Halloween#Cosutmes", which I don't think is an accurate redirection. I don't see anyone typing "List of Halloween characters" and intending to find costumes for Halloween. It makes more logical sense that they would type Halloween costumes and be taken to the appropriate page (yes page, because there is an entire page on costumes and not a section as that redirect sends them to.
Per naming conventions, I would propose that this page go to the "List of Halloween characters" page name, on the grounds that it is the most common usage and it is not competing with any actual page of the same name. At worst case scenario, you include a hatnote that says "If you're looking for Halloween costumes then see this page.". BIGNOLE (Contact me) 16:26, 31 January 2020 (UTC)
Cast table
[edit]I think we should merge the cast table. Right now it looks messy, especially since the first Halloween shows up three times and Halloween II twice. It feels unnecessary and drags the page out. If mentioning continuity is important, than we should instead create a section about it somewhere on the page, such as below.
^U This actor portrayed the unmasked version of a character.
^Y This actor portrayed a younger version of the character.
^S This actor was the stunt actor for the character.
^A This actor appeared through the use of archive footage.
^B This actor voiced the breathing of the character.
^P This actor appeared in a photo only.
^V This actor only voiced this character, and did not actually appear.
^C This actor only appears as this character in an alternate cut of the film.
Continuity with characters
[edit]The franchise exists over several different continuities, with characters receiving several different fates.
- Continuity A consists of Halloween, Halloween II, Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers, Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers, and Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers. In this continuity, Laurie Strode dies between the second and third films, and has a daughter named Jamie Lloyd.
- Continuity B consists of Halloween, Halloween II, Halloween H20: 20 Years Later, and Halloween Resurrection. In this continuity, Laurie Strode does not die, and Jamie Lloyd doesn't exist, instead she has a son named John Tate.
- Continuity C consists of Halloween, Halloween, Halloween Kills, and Halloween Ends. In this timeline, Laurie is not related to Michael Myers, and doesn't have Jamie or John, instead having a daughter named Karen.
- The remake continuity consists of the remake and it's sequel, and is a retelling of the first two films.
- Halloween III: Season of the Witch exists in it's own continuity where the other films are also in-universe films.
This way it summarizes character appearances in all the films, saves repeating films, and just makes it seem less messy. It also acknowledges the alternate continuities. 96.238.36.15 (talk) 07:58, 3 July 2020 (UTC)
