This list has a lot of information for which no source is provided. In the case of lists, it's sometimes acceptable to have the sources included in the articles on the list, but this needs to be checked, and sources provided if they are not there. Also there are a few films here that don't have an article, so sources are needed for the info about those films. Also, information on the list should be consistent with information in the articles, and this hasn't been checked. The very first film in the list has a different release date in the article from the one on the list. I know this is extra work, but accuracy and consistency are important! —Anne Delong (talk) 13:19, 12 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Focus Films International

[edit]

Focus Films had a "Focus Films International" division in London which produced such movies as the "Biutiful" starring Javier Bardem which was nominated for 2 Academy Awards. This isn't listed under Focus Features and Focus Features International has no separate listing of films. Either one needs to be created or an addendum needs to be added to list or they should be put in this list with "*Focus Features International" production added in the notes.

We cannot have a Focus Features production with 2 Academy Awards missing altogether from Wiki under the Focus Features banner

Biutiful which has 2 Academy Award Nominations and 2 Bafta Nominations has been added. Biutiful is a Focus Features International Film and is not listed here at all despite all the alcolades.
If we are not going to list Focus Features International Films then this list has to be dramatically different as
- Marcell the Shell with Shoes On
- Last Night In Soho
and many more which I will list here as changes are made are strictly "Focus Features International" (FFI) films and NOT Focus Features.
The difference between Focus Features and Focus Features International is simply that the films originated or distributed from their London branch and not the LA branch.
Because of this, I feel they should all be on the main list.
However you want to disagree and make a separate list for specifically FFI films (like you have on top of Focus World etc)... that's perfectly fine, but... there are so many Focus Features on this list which are (like Marcell and Last Night in Soho) FFI films that we need to go through this with a fine tooth comb and move all of them into that list. Right now they are dispersed throughout this list with no mention of FFI being the production or distribution company.
So please let's make a decision and either add all the missing OSCAR / BAFTA (and non-nominated films) BFI's in this list or lets figure out which are FFI or not and make a separate list before I go through all the trouble only to have all my work undone.
Thank you! Floydspinkies (talk) 18:33, 5 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Here are others that I have found that are not listed in any Focus Film listings but are listed with Focus Films Interational as either production or distribution:

-- The Last Days On Mars starring Liev Schreiber

-- Cloud Atlas starring Tom Hanks distribution rights outside the U.S.

https://www.imdb.com/search/title/?companies=co0288663 has a list of 40 movies from "FFI (GB)" aka Focus Features International. Many of which are not listed under Focus Features Films main list or any other Focus Features List yet some of the FFI films that have no "Focus Features" associations other than the fact that it is a "Focus Features International" are listed in this main list. This is very confusing

Addition of Focus Features International Films

[edit]

I have as stated above added 3 films that were erroneously missing from Focus Features that are 'Focus Features International films" (FFI) through production or distribution: Oscar Nominated Biutiful (Javier Bardem) Oscar Winning Blue Jasmine {Kate Blanchet} by Woody Allen Tom Hanks' Cloud Atlas Floydspinkies (talk) 18:52, 11 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
