Mrs. Trump in the White House
[edit]Since Martha Washington didn't live in the White House (it hadn't been constructed yet), does this count? I can see it going either way. Bkatcher (talk) 15:56, 29 October 2017 (UTC)
- I'm with you on that. AmYisroelChai (talk) 19:47, 16 November 2017 (UTC)

Incomplete List
[edit]I noticed that this list in its current form does not mention several former First Ladies or Acting First Ladies including Elizabeth Monroe, Jane Irwin Harrison, Margaret Taylor, Abigail Fillmore, Jane Pierce, Harriet Lane. Eliza McCardle Johnson, Lucretia Garfield, Ida Saxton McKinley, and Ellen Axson Wilson, and I was wondering if my fellow Wikipedians feel they did anything worthy of inclusion on this list.--TommyBoy (talk) 20:33, 15 February 2019 (UTC)
- I added a fact for Abigail FillmoreBkatcher (talk) 14:45, 29 July 2020 (UTC)
Postgraduate degree
[edit]Hillary Clinton is listed at the first first lady to have a graduate degree. However, some sources claim it was Pat Nixon, whose teaching certificate (which she earned simultaneously with her bachelor's) was 'the equivalent of a master's'. My gut is to go with Clinton, but does anyone else have an opinion?Bkatcher (talk) 14:45, 29 July 2020 (UTC)
Added Jill Biden
[edit]As Joe Biden been elected President and will be inaugurated on 21 January 2021, Jill Biden has been added to the list, even if her tenure as First Lady only begins in late January.
- No, she's not. Likely, it's a done deal, but we don't add people to these lists until they actually assume a title. Bkatcher (talk) 20:55, 9 November 2020 (UTC)
Barbara Bush was the first First Lady to appear on Sesame Street
[edit]Should we include this fact or is it not that important? [1] And1987 (talk) 22:58, 15 September 2023 (UTC)
- No, first ladies have appeared on hundreds of TV shows. What makes Sesame Street the most notable? Bkatcher (talk) 04:09, 1 June 2024 (UTC)
If Harris/Walz win the election
[edit]If Harris/Walz win the election, will the title of the page be changed to List of First Spouse of the United States firsts? Sekundenlang (talk) 08:08, 19 August 2024 (UTC)
- I was wondering the same thing. However, some of these first ladies were not actually spouses, but other relatives. Bkatcher (talk) 02:13, 26 August 2024 (UTC)
