F-15E crash at Lakenheath AFB England
[edit]An F-15E had a landing gear problem and a tire blow out and crashed after landing Sept 12, 2000 at Lakenheath AFB England. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Bachellef (talk • contribs) 12:16, 8 February 2010 (UTC)
- thank you. Could you please provide a source, a news report that talks about it? --TheFEARgod (Ч) 13:36, 8 February 2010 (UTC)
March 22, 2011 "crash" in Libya
[edit]I will have to dispute a neutrality of this article, if expression "crashed due to mechanical falilure" remains. It came from an american source, some other sources (not only Lybian!) claims that it was shot down. --DustBGD89-3 (talk) 10:53, 22 March 2011 (UTC)
- If you know of sources, I would suggest you add them. It is irrelevant what country the source is from, but it is very important that they match WP:RS. -RN1970 (talk) 11:24, 22 March 2011 (UTC)
Let`s say this serbian source: http://www.pressonline.rs/sr/vesti/globus/story/155236/%28VIDEO%29+Libijske+snage+oborile+ameri%C4%8Dki+F-15E+Igl.html If you look at 10:56, you will find (on serbian) "American jet shot"- with explanations from both sides. It is interesting, that in that article, there are references to some western sources (not cited) that confirms that F-16 was shot down. --DustBGD89-3 (talk) 12:02, 22 March 2011 (UTC)
- Please find a WP:RS, preferably in English. Dbrodbeck (talk) 12:48, 22 March 2011 (UTC)
- "Since this is disputed by sources that are among the most highly regarded in terms of WP:RS (CNN, New York Times, BBC"), you'll have to find a high quality English languaged source (WP:NOENG). Especially because the source you provided is not clear at all: Under the 10:56 entry that you mention, they write that one report said it was shot down, but another that it was because of technical failure! By quoting two separate explanations they're basically saying they don't know. If the unnamed Western media they base their first comment on really is high quality, it shouldn't be hard to find. In fairness it should be mentioned that technical failure is according to US military (per sources I linked), but they're certainly well beyond Libyan state media in WP:RS, and better than an "unknown Western media" source that may, or may not, exist. RN1970 (talk) 13:08, 22 March 2011 (UTC)
NYT - isn`t it the newspaper which, in late summer 2008, foresaw another surge in NYSE stock exchange in early autumn of this very year ? This "quality source" is laughable - quite obviously, the disclosure willingly misleading information is being labeled as "sources highly regarded". Those "highly regarded sources" are mainly regarded as close to USA-Israel. Mainly israeli reports usually attempt to conceal israeli losses or losses which occured in missions carired out by 3rd countries but dedicated to the israeli cause or with israelian involvement. Pherhaps, next time you should quote KCNA (North Korean News Agency) as a "most regarded source" - By the way: Former soviet sources reported the loss of scores of F-15 and F-16 fighter jets in Tel Avivs 1982 ill-fated Lebanon campaign due to AA-missiles fired by syrian MIGs 21, 23 and 25. Those claims are being maitained today by sources close to the russian military (even to be found in Wiki under search term "MIG 23"). Are those sources less highly regarded than a New York newspaper or news agencies (CNN, BBC) that became notorious for the 1990 Kuwaiti incubator fake ? Or for Mr. Husseins alleged stocks of WMD in 2002 ? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 77.22.67.128 (talk • contribs) 20:14, September 4, 2015
Accident involving 80-0007
[edit]I'm the current owner of the cockpit section of 80-0007 and I scanned in the first three pages from the "releasable" portion of the accident report in order to provide a citation that outlines the # of hours on the airframe and more detail on the incident itself. - Gene Buckle (f15sim) — Preceding unsigned comment added by F15sim (talk • contribs) 14:48, 22 March 2011 (UTC)
McDonnell Douglas F-15 Eagle Losses & Ejections
[edit]This site appears far more comprehensive, should the article be expanded to include these incidents? wiki 15:30, 22 March 2011 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Andromedean (talk • contribs)
