- This list of destinations is not date referenced. Are these destinations being served in 2005 or what? We need to know how current the list is or it is of no value. Ardfern 20:11, 20 August 2005 (UTC)
Map is Not Updated
[edit]The Map at the right hand top side, showing the countries that Emirates flies to, is not updated. Might I request, to whoever included the map, to get the latest version and update the resource?

Erbil
[edit]As far as I can tell, there is no current Emirates flights to Erbil. I've always flown Qatar Airways, but with the restrictions on Qatar, the only flight from the UAE seems to be Fly Dubai. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2001:8003:655A:1800:3CBD:249A:E7DC:77C1 (talk) 03:12, 7 June 2017 (UTC)
Flag Icons
[edit]I think the idea of having the flag icons is great!!! The only thing that I am against is exactly how it is done. When someone goes onto the edit page to change something, it is very nice to see the names of the countries. With this current flag system, the names of the countries cannot be seen. I am proposing a new way of doing the flag icons.
Look at the two ways that this can be done:
Option 1
Option 2
As you can see, there is no difference between how they look. But if I were to show them in the edit page they would look like this:
Option 1 *DJI **Djibouti (Djibouti-Ambouli International Airport) (Cargo) Option 2 *Djibouti Djibouti **Djibouti (Djibouti-Ambouli International Airport) (Cargo)
Option 1 is the current system and I am proposing Option 2. When people edit the page, they will be able see to which country they are editing instead of just the flagicon template code, which might be confusing to some. I think it would be a smart idea to change it, even though the new system is longer on the edit page. So what do you think? Please respond.

- There is no reason to have the flags. If someone wants to know the flag of the country listed, he or she can visit the page with one click. Should there be state flags for US airlines? The flags slow down the loading of the page, and more importantly, put needless demand on the servers. This issue has been discussed at length, and every time the decision was to keep the flags out. - Okay, I understand. But is it possible you can provide a link to one of the discussions you mentioned so I can see it. I am not saying that I do not believe you, I am just interested to see what arguments were provided in the discussion for both sides. Thank you. --Leitmanp 05:42, 12 October 2007 (UTC)
- I never replied to this. Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Airports#Flags_in_airport_articles_and_airline_destinations_lists has one discussion. Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Airports/Archive_3#User_adding_flags_to_destination_lists has another. If you look through the project talk page archive, there's one or two more discussions on the issue, as well. DB (talk) 16:58, 14 November 2007 (UTC)

In my opinion it is better to group the destinations according to their continent and country (as in traditionally) instead of in alphabetical order of the cities/destinations.118.100.40.240 (talk) 03:00, 29 December 2010 (UTC)
Flights to Afghanistan
[edit]Emirates does not fly to Afghanistan. By going to the Emirates web site you can see that Kabul is not listed in the drop-box of destinations. Also, if you go to Emirates RouteMap you will see that there are no cities in Afghanistan that are on the map. I am interpreting this to mean there are no flights to Kabul, or any other Afghan city. If you have proof of an Emirates flight to Afghanistan, please provide the information or source. Thank you. Leitmanp 22:28, 8 September 2007 (UTC)
Americas
[edit]Why was North America and South America combined into one section? It was easier to navigate when they were two seperate continents. I would like to change it back to two seperate continents, but I do not want to start a revert war. If no reason for the combination is written here, I will split it up into North America and South America on 3 November 2007. --Leitmanp 04:34, 1 November 2007 (UTC)

Bamako
[edit]Bamako is listed as an Emirates destinations. But in reality it is not. Emirates does not and is not planning to fly to Bamako. Those who maintain this page, pelase remove it from the list 194.170.246.120 (talk) 13:02, 29 October 2015 (UTC)
