Humbaba
[edit]I'm just curious. Why is Humbaba listed as the first ruler of Elam here? It's my understanding that Humbaba was a creature described in the Epic of Gilgamesh, not a ruler. And that it lived somewhere within the Cedar Forest, which was a forest believed to be somewhere within what is today called Lebanon (not Elam, which was located within what is today called Iran). I tried looking for any source that shows Humbaba as the earliest known ruler listed on a Elamite King List, but found nothing. 2606:6000:66E1:4300:51A3:4F08:3A6D:4903 (talk) 22:14, 3 December 2015 (UTC)
- Hi I'm replying to myself here. Many months ago; I found at least one source suggesting that Humbaba was indeed an Elamite despot who fought against Gilgamesh, along with at least one or two (maybe up to six, seven, or more) other Elamite kings who ruled sometime in between 2800, 2700, 2680, 2600, and/or 2580 BCE... before those mentioned in the Sumerian and Awanite/Susian regnal lists. There was also Humban-Shutur (or Khumbastir). The names of these kings have long since been removed from this article and I, unfortunately, would seem to have misplaced my sources. Was wondering whether or not anybody felt that replacing these kings with sources into the article would be relevant. 2603:8000:C33E:E2BD:450C:2E51:AF6A:592D (talk) 21:22, 8 July 2023 (UTC)
- Forgot to add that I was wondering whether or not to include Biblical patriarchs such as Elam in this list. 2603:8000:C33E:E2BD:6570:1FD:78E2:77BF (talk) 13:24, 24 July 2023 (UTC)

Unknown ruler
[edit]I'm sort of vaguely refreshing the Haft Tepe article and in the process added this, the source mentioning an Elamite ruler I could not find a link to. Yes, I lost the diacriticals in the pick/put.:-) Another ruler known from two seals found in a grave at Haft Tepe was Inshushinak-sarru-(rabu)-ilani.[1] Ploversegg (talk) 21:12, 8 July 2023 (UTC)
