WHAT a stupid move

[edit]

Why was this page renamed and moved to what is clearly incorrect? Its contain NO HOME VIDEO information, just DVD and the original title was correct. How do you renamed it back? --Crazyseiko (talk) 18:26, 15 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

List of Danger Mouse home video releasesDanger Mouse DVD releases – This new name IE home video release is incorrect. the oringal titles DVD release was correct, this page has NO VHS details on it Crazyseiko (talk) 23:06, 15 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  • Strong Oppose: This article clearly is a 'List of' article, so -->'Danger Mouse DVD releases' is completely inappropriate. You might be able to sway me on 'List of Danger Mouse DVD releases', but there seems to be more of a convention to use 'home video', rather than a particular format of release, see: home video releases compared to DVD Releases. 22 articles use 'home video releases', where only 5 articles use 'DVD releases'. EDIT: note the five articles in question have since been moved to 'home video' per discussion below.
As for your argument about this list only containing DVD release information, that is true. The better solution than having different articles for each distribution of the show is to have one article where all the information is contained. That it is why it is better to have the 'home video' title format so that the other information on past VHS releases can also be included. I would argue that the current title is fine and that the article is Incomplete rather than in need of a move.  InsertCleverPhraseHere InsertTalkHere  02:30, 16 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • Strong Oppose: Using the universal term "home video" allows us to include VHS, Betamax, Video 2000, Laserdisc, DVD, HD-DVD, Bluray Disc and even Netflix online streaming. Anyone is free to add other formats than just DVD into the articles. I guess most articles were originally called DVD because DVD was the most popular home video format when the articles were started. J 1982 (talk) 08:58, 16 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose: The "List of" title format seems better. Additionally, we need to be flexible for home release formats that will inevitably occur in the future, so limiting the list to DVD releases is a short-sighted solution. The broader "home video" terminology will allow us to be flexible until such time that we stop describing things as home video, since our culture is already able to access everything from everywhere, not just at home. TL;DR: keep the article title "List of Danger Mouse home video releases". Cyphoidbomb (talk) 19:39, 16 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
