StudSat isn't a CubeSat

[edit]

Hello, StudSat isn´t a CubeSat since it has dimensions of 10 cm x 10 cm x 13.5 cm. CubeSat specifications are a 10cm cube (10 cm x 10 cm x 13 cm). There are also other nano satellites that aren't CubeSats since they don't meet CubeSat specifications. --Joseygnacyo (talk) 16:41, 27 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Missing cubesats

[edit]

See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/COTS_Demo_Flight_1#Additional_payloads for four 3U cubesats not on the list. (QbX) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.173.67.204 (talk) 22:12, 2 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Missing cubesats

[edit]

Suggestion: Add a column for mission in addition to the Rocket. e.g. ELaNa 3/NPP is the mission for one launch, Delta II is the rocket. Or another example: The third Minotaur IV launch was also known as STP-S26. I think that would be good to add. --171.64.108.41 (talk) 17:32, 24 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Large number of Cubesats launched on 21/11/2013

[edit]

A large number of Cubesats were part of a record 32 satellites launched on a single rocket. See http://www.nasaspaceflight.com/2013/11/russian-dnepr-record-breaking-32-satellite-haul/ and please add the details of these satellites to the list. Missing references for reentry date

[edit]

I noticed that, for some cubesats, reentry dates are provided, but without references/sources. Since they are provided for the launch date, they should be provided in case of reentry, too. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Afcuttin (talkcontribs) 15:37, 27 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Taylor University 2003 Launch

[edit]

i cannot find any evidence of taylor having a satellite carried aloft by a russian icbm launcher in 2003... the page on the taylor.edu site is a 404 dead link... i spent hours today looking for other evidence and sources for this and have found nothing at all... it looks like the launch in 2013 was the one that should have been in 2003 OR the more recent on in 2014 was it... there are notations that they were deselected in the NASA process and then obviously made it back in... if anyone has some more information on this, i'll me happy to have it... thanks! CubeSats lost in Cygnus CRS Orb-3 explosion

[edit]

Some sources indicate that the payload of Cygnus CRS Orb-3, which exploded shortly after launch on 28 October 2014, included an unspecified number of CubeSats. If someone can dig up the details perhaps they could be listed as "lost due to launch failure". Roger (Dodger67) (talk) 09:58, 30 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

List online

[edit]

I just found this list online that seems relatively updated. It is also classified by the number of Units. It could be very useful as a reference to update this article: http://space.skyrocket.de/doc_sat/cubesat.htm Cheers, BatteryIncluded (talk) 05:02, 25 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned references in List of CubeSats

[edit]

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of List of CubeSats's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

Reference named "nasaspaceflight":

  • From PhoneSat: "SpaceX Falcon 9 successfully launches CRS-3 Dragon | NASASpaceFlight.com". nasaspaceflight.com. Retrieved 2014-05-07.
  • From FUNcube-1: nasaspaceflight.com report of the launch

I apologize if any of the above are effectively identical; I am just a simple computer program, so I can't determine whether minor differences are significant or not. AnomieBOT 11:48, 31 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Propose deletion of Launch Time column

[edit]

Launch time is not significantly relevent for the cubesat mission especially as it does not convey directly to an orbit release epoch. Given the table size and readability, I am recommending deletion of this column to better standardize the table. With time field, there are 11 fields in table; removal reduces to 10 fields/columns. Please take a position on this (Yes for delete; No for retaining the time field/column. SpaceHist65 (talk) 19:40, 6 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
