As for Croatia has a President and not a Head of State. Also historical flags go to the historical sectio, President = Head of State, it's just that the latter is more formal. --PaxEquilibrium (talk) 20:55, 21 May 2008 (UTC)
Image copyright problem with Image:Flag HOS.jpg
[edit]The image Image:Flag HOS.jpg is used in this article under a claim of fair use, but it does not have an adequate explanation for why it meets the requirements for such images when used here. In particular, for each page the image is used on, it must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Please check
- That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for the use in this article.
- That this article is linked to from the image description page.

A new article for NDH flags?
[edit]Whoa, looks like NDH flags might warrant their own article. Thoughts? -- Director (talk) 23:42, 21 January 2012 (UTC)

Failed verification and original research
[edit]There are many problems with constantly reverting and re-adding flags to this list, that just not belong to this list.
This Volksdeutsche flag is historical, yes but it is definitely not an ethnic flag in Croatia.
The fact that it was used 80 years ago, does not mean that a flag where the Swastika is replaced by odal is a modern-day ethnic flag of Croatia. It can be added to that list, of course — but not as an ethnic flag. "Volksdeutsche" is also not a term used in modern-day Croatia and the description "Flag of the German Community" is in this case obviously in this context not correct. In fact, Volksdeutsche is/was a term from the 1930-ih for "Germans outside the Reich".
The so-called "Dubrovnik Republic" flag is an original research and failed verification. Beside the fact that this "Republic" only existed on paper and that it had no flag (atleast you will not find ANY historical or encyclopedic sources for that), the two sources that were added do not seem to me like reliable sources. In fact, the flag you can find on that website really seems like a low-quality original research. Sourcing something on Wikipedia does not mean that it "just has to be somewhere on the internet." Content must be verifiable.
Also, why was this edit reverted? The flags were removed because of copyright problems.
