Merge proposal

I suggest merging the SilverCity article to List of Cineplex Entertainment movie theatres#SilverCity/StarCité. The SilverCity brand is on the decline, now down to 12 SilverCity and 2 StarCité locations. SilverCity Windsor is the latest to close, with January 4, 2022 being the last day of movie operations. Cineplex favours its other brands. For this and other reasons, I suggest sticking to a SilverCity and StarCité section on the Cineplex locations list article, with perhaps a mention on the Famous Players article. --LABcrabs (talk) 05:47, 20 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Future plans for this article

I suggest that this article redirects to Cineplex Entertainment#Theatre chains. The main reason is that WP:NOTADIRECTORY was put in place to remove the listing of all Cineplex locations. Also, several articles would be a better place for the remaining content:

Cineplex Cinemas, Cineplex Odeon and Galaxy Cinemas should all go in Cineplex's "Theatre chains" section.
Scotiabank Theatre already has its own article.
Cineplex VIP Cinemas should go in Cineplex's "Premium formats" section.
Famous Players and its related brands (SilverCity/StarCité, Coliseum and Colossus) should all go in the Famous Players article.

There are few compelling reasons to keep this "List" article, so I plan to move and merge its content by the end of this year. LABcrabs (talk) 04:07, 15 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
