Caribbean
[edit]Now this is a sad list. Wikipedia is again failing readers with incorrect information. The Caribbean is a body of water that is enclosed by a group of islands to the North and East and by the coast of South America, Central America and North America (Mexico).
Take your map and start at the Northeast point of the Yucatan and move East across the Southern coast of Cuba past Hispaniola, Puerto Rico, British Virgins and then Turn South Down through Trinidad and across the coasts of Venezuela, Columbia up past Panama back to the Northeast tip of the Yucatan.
Your list of Caribbean countries excludes Venezuela, Colombia, Panama, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Honduras, Belize and Mexico. It includes non Caribbean countries Bermuda, The Bahamas and Turks and Caicos. In addition Puerto Rico is not a country but a protectorate of the US of A.

Belize?
[edit]Guyana is included, which does not fit with the article's titular reference to islands, but makes sense based on the Caribbean theme. But this means Belize should be included as well. ChikeJ (talk) 03:31, 16 March 2011 (UTC)
- @ChikeJ: Yes. I do believe that Guyana should be included on this list as a Caribbean country. I recently visited this country and read multiple people tell me it is a Caribbean country even though it is not an island. Mrwoogi010 (talk) 19:38, 20 August 2018 (UTC)
Bonaire
[edit]There is an article in wikipedia on Bonaire, why is it not listed here? 46.40.123.61 (talk) 10:42, 23 January 2015 (UTC)
- That island is not included in this list because it belongs to the Caribbean Netherlands from an administrative point of view, with Saba and Sint Eustatius.
- Regards from Argentina :-)

Guyana is a Caribbean Country too
[edit]Why is Guyana not included on this list? I recently visited Guyana and many people there kept saying they were part of the Caribbean. I also found these resources telling me the same thing.

Can someone please help me with this question I have. It will help me determine weather or not to add this country to the list. Also feel free to let me know you have answered my questions in my talk page below. Mrwoogi010 (talk) 02:39, 21 August 2018 (UTC)
- Support including Guyana. The United Nations also consider the country to be part of the Caribbean region: 'United Nations Multi-Country Sustainable Development Framework in the Caribbean', page 4: 'From Jamaica in the north, through the vibrant islands of the Organization of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS), to Guyana in the south, the Caribbean has demonstrated a wide variety of development achievements and considerable convergence in the challenges countries face'. - I feel like I would be a COI editing what is discussed above. mrwoogi010 Talk 20:52, 22 December 2018 (UTC)
- Whether it be individuals who reside in the Co-operative Republic of Guyana or those who have merely visited it, there can be no conflict of interest when it comes to editing articles dealing with that country. All editors are invited to edit articles about the nation itself, which includes articles which list (or do not list) the country. The use of the

Venezuela
[edit]Venezuela is the country with the most coasts in the Caribbean Sea more than 4000 kilometers. And it is not included in the list as long as there are territories that do not have a centimeter of sea in the Caribbean such as Guyana, Suriname or Bermuda. It is one of those lists that are common in English wikipedia that deny that Venezuela, Colombia or Panama to cite only 3 examples have a Caribbean coast--Warairarepano&Guaicaipuro (talk) 05:26, 9 September 2020 (UTC)
Complete update
[edit]I have updated the table to include UN projections for 2023, change from 2022, absolute change, doubling time, official figure, official date and official source.
I have then also done another edit which removed the absolute change and doubling time columns, because they are not very interesting. This also allows most rows in the table to be one line each in the default theme. Wizmut (talk) 00:54, 18 April 2023 (UTC)
- I have also moved the percentage column over to the left a bit, and moved all the source info into ref tags. Now every row is neat looking, without losing any important info.
- The references could still use some work to add detail. Wizmut (talk) 01:25, 18 April 2023 (UTC)
Map
[edit]I have added a map. I could not find a good map that both had clear names of all the small islands, and included the continental countries, so I went with the small islands. A map that clearly shows every region on this list (with very easy to read labels) would be very helpful.
I have also added a pie chart per other lists of this type. Wizmut (talk) 07:31, 19 April 2023 (UTC)
