Merger proposal

[edit]

The pages are nearly identical and should be merged

So far as I can tell this article was created with content from the other article and British armoured fighting vehicles of World War II. Though not properly attributed in the edits. in other words a WP:Fork of existing material. It would be better to reduce this article down to links to the already existing articles. List of Soviet Union military equipment of World War II and possibly other related pages of similar names need merging/forking with their counterparts. WinterSpw (talk) 11:15, 15 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Resolved the problem on the British pages by adding section transcusions on the List of British military equipment of World War II. Klbrain (talk) 17:54, 14 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

OK added some images to the list on my phone they seem good but on desktop they appear to not be in the right place. However I believe they will still add to the list its just that the images will not be parallel to their subject in the list if you are using a computer over a smartphone Anonymous contributor 1707 (talk) 14:24, 12 November 2020 (UTC).[reply]

List seems pretty good now got a good list of all British Army land equipment and RAF aircraft with the link to that list on this article. However the link to British ships of world war II just comes up with a general ship list of world war II. I would probably leave this but the link does not even show British ships of world war II when it is featured in a a list of British military equipment oof World War II. As a result I will make aa list myself of British ships of World War II and them add that list to this list as the current list does not even present the right articles Anonymous contributor 1707 (talk) 15:45, 16 November 2020 (UTC).[reply]

OK progress update on The Royal Navy ship classes World War II list. A full list of all main blue water(ocean) Royal Navy ships(Carriers, Battleships Crusiers and Destroyers) now available on the list.Still working on side ships like Frigates and sloops and corvettes.I am also complimenting the list by another list of all the aircraft oof the Fleet Air Arm which are all the aircraft the British ships will have used. Thinking about a small arms section for the Navy from World War II Anonymous contributor 1707 (talk) 12:01, 30 November 2020 (UTC).[reply]

List of Fleet air arm aircraft of World War II is complete although minor changes may still be made Anonymous contributor 1707 (talk) 10:28, 6 December 2020 (UTC).[reply]

I investigated making an article on Royal Navy small arms but the only one I could find was the Lanchester so decided to abandon the Royal Navy small arms list idea as there was no content to list. While I was looking I found the Green Beret article and will add that to the Uniforms list on this list. I belive I will finish off my list of Classes of Royal Navy ships of World War II and then do a final third list on the Royal Navy in World War II which will be on military equipment of the Royal Navy in World War II which will mainly be on warship guns(which is not present in this list) and other Royal Navy weapons(Torpedos, depth charges and mines) andd perhaps non-weapon related things. I will also start adding links to Royal Navy equipment lists on pages that deal with such things so people are more aware the lists exist Anonymous contributor 1707 (talk) 22:40, 6 December 2020 (UTC).[reply]

I was thinking if I added images to this with a a gallery I could fit in more and they would look neater. I will trial this with the uniform section and will continue if everybody is OK with these changes. This way I can fit more in and they will be always be just below the section regardless of the users screen size making it much neatedd than on full sized computer screens where the images are further down the page than the actual link they relate to.Also might think about adding landmines to this list noticed those are not there and they clearly are with the list of German equipment. Also in North African Campaign there are plenty of references to British minefields like at the battle of Gazala so there must be some British mines Anonymous contributor 1707 (talk) 22:35, 11 December 2020 (UTC).[reply]

PS added this list and other World War II equipment lists to the Battle of France and Operation Weserübung as I believe the equipment used in the specific battle should be available on the article Anonymous contributor 1707 (talk) 23:05, 11 December 2020 (UTC).[reply]

OK new naval equipment list has been added on which is very early on in construction and the last list article I will do on the Royal Navy in World War II. After this most pieces of equipment in the Royal Navy at least or possibly all in World War II should be covered by this list with the respective three lists added in for naval ships, aircraft and equipment. This is much better than when I set out to makes these lists on which only naval aircraft were covered by the aircraft list and so there was a massive gap in the content this list had on the Royal Navy and what was actually available on Wikipedia. Graeme Leggett thank you for your hard work and time trying to edit to make improvements and add to my lists to be better it will improve their quality significantly. My new Royal Navy equipment list is already on this list for you and others to have access to it for editing Anonymous contributor 1707 (talk) 17:26, 15 December 2020 (UTC).[reply]

OK someone came to me and said there might be copyright issues with one of the articles I did for the mine project. As a result I will change the other articles made for this project to avoid breaches of copyright Anonymous contributor 1707 (talk) 13:00, 15 January 2021 (UTC).[reply]

OK have not written here for a while I finished added a list of mines to this a while ago. Have some free time from other projects so I will add a list of RAF bomber command equipment to this list tomorrow as I know of some equipment on bombers that deserves a mention 18:27, 17 May 2021 (UTC)Anonymous contributor 1707 (talk).

Started a series on bayonets and added the most widely used one the No 4 Bayonet which was standard for the No 4 mk I Lee Enfield. This really needed adding considering the rifle it was for was the main British rifle of World War II. Expect more bayonets to come in this list and I will eventually add the one for the Kar 98k which suprisingly also is not on Wikipedia.
