Citation conflicts and deleting the "children" column
[edit]I edited this page here a few months ago and have some questions for those who edit it, specifically to those who decided to undo the changes I made.
- Why include the child actors in the videos? It may raise privacy concerns especially now that the ones with their last names credited are in their 20s now. They might not want the information publicly available. Some may choose to post that they were in the videos, but that is up to them. Please don't go out and find the people in the videos in search of their last names just to edit them on this page. (it's very creepy.)
- The child actors in the later Disney videos, who are credited by just their first name (or with the last initial), should be deleted as well. Why keep them if the ones from the previous table were deleted? Additionally, the number of kids in the one column compared to the rest of the text in the other rows makes the table look a bit scattered.
And a couple of comments about some specific videos and such:
- "Baby Mozart" was released February 1, 1998. There is a citation with a press release. Please don't change the dates if there's a cited press release.
- The release date for "Baby Bach" is often debated; although it was copyrighted in 1998, the cited press release is from January 1, 1999. This is the only credible source in which a release date for the video is found. Again, please don't change the date with the citation.
- The release date for "Baby Shakespeare" is November 23, 1999. Thank you to whoever put the citation there, but the date (as of January 22, 2021) is wrong.
- "Baby Santa's Music Box" released November 1, 2000. Again, this conflicts with the citation.
- "Neighborhood Animals" and "World Animals" do not have a cited press release. If there is any information on it available, please cite and change the date if needed.
- The first ten videos were re-released under Disney branding in 2004; add this as a subsection or add it to the Notes column (maybe worth mentioning, maybe not).
- For the puppets column, especially in the later videos, it's probably not worth mentioning the "names" of the puppets to those who don't have official names. The only confirmed names for the puppets are "Bard the Dragon", "Vincent van Goat", "Pavlov" (the dog), and "Jane" (the monkey). I'm sure there's a few that I'm missing, but please refrain from giving the puppets fanmade names.
- If a video has a subtitle, then it should be put in with the rest of the title.
I applaud the efforts to make this article as complete as possible, but bear in mind that this is Wikipedia and not a fanmade and fan-run wiki. There are plenty of fan-run Baby Einstein wikis to do this type of stuff on, so if you want to do that, do it there. This is Wikipedia (the real deal!), and I am trying to make an effort to keep this article as accurate as possible. Thank you.

Frustrated Beyond
[edit]What source did Baby Bach said it was released in 1999 or 1998?!
The release date of Baby Bach is continuously updated to incorrect date saying the video was released on November 3, 1998.
Baby Bach was released in early 1999!!!
Also, I don't know what specific reliable source said that the first 10 Baby Einstein videos were released and changed on October 26, 2004 because Baby Da Vinci had the blue triangle at the bottom of the cover and DVDs released in August 2004 (when Baby Da Vinci was released) had the English, French and Spanish language.

- I'm decently frustrated about it too, there was this one IP editor from Michigan who kept changing the date and citing IMDb, so I went to ANI and now the page is pending changes protected. wizzito | say hello! 23:56, 16 November 2021 (UTC)
Dates
[edit]I think the dates you put on are when they were completed, but they were released months later. For instance, Newton was finished on September 12, 2001, but was released six months later on March 12, 2002. Can you change the dates to when they were released, not when they were completed? Please. 2601:40A:8400:5A40:F0A2:AEC7:F740:E229 (talk) 17:53, 7 October 2023 (UTC)
