This is a new format for the list. I have only included people with last names A-C. I took most of them from the Irish-American politicians category, but I did not take everyone A-C from that category.

Local
[edit]Would this be a better way to format the list? 75.3.49.50 03:11, 5 July 2006 (UTC)
- Yes, this looks good. But, we still must have sources for every name that says that person is Irish-American. No assumptions, even very good ones. Mad Jack 21:32, 5 July 2006 (UTC)
proposal
[edit]I agree that this and all other name lists should have verified names, but I argue that somewhere ought to exist for names of people who are not yet verified. These names could be listed in a section of the talk page for the list. This would provide a working location where editors could place names pending further research by themselves or other editors; it could even include a section for names that have been verified as not belonging to the list (with references), so future editors would not have to do the research again and again. Thanks Hmains 04:08, 6 July 2006 (UTC)
- Oh, absolutely. This is the case for most other X-American pages too. Unverified names are in discussion. Mad Jack 17:25, 6 July 2006 (UTC)
Kennedy Men
[edit]I've added two members of the 'Irish Mafia' of President Kennedy (was amazed neither of these men was on this list!), Secretary of Defense Robert McNamara and Senior Aide Kenneth O'Donnell. If I get time I'll add more...there were loads in the Kennedy administration, of course.Iamlondon 04:53, 29 August 2006 (UTC)

Kamala Harris
[edit]According to Wikipedia, Kamala Harris's father was of Irish-Jamaican descent. Should we include her? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:547:D00:1630:9148:8EB1:CDAC:9FE3 (talk) 04:37, 5 December 2021 (UTC)
