[edit]There is nothing that makes a black democrat more upset. Than to find an extremely educated black with irreproachable credentials who is Republican and believes in the platform. Ask yourself one question. If the republicans are so racist and against the little man. Why are most Civil Rights and workers rights violations happening in historically Democratic controlled states. The greatest propaganda since Hitler and Stalin. Is that the Democrats are for Blacks and the Republicans are racists. The democrats are for power and they know by keep blacks and other races Dependant on the government. They can and will hold this power Forever. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.84.201.250 (talk) 01:53, 6 February 2008 (UTC)
Denzel Washington is a Republican?????? By what source?????

Larry Elder is not a Republican? Then why is he listed in an article specifically called "List of African American Republicans"? If we can't get a reasonable defense for his inclusion, I intend to delete him from this list.

I'd say its pretty safe to say Juan Williams of NPR and Fox News is no Republican.
How is Tiger Woods a republican? I'm not saying he isn't, I'm just asking what this is based on. According to his page he gave a speech at Obama's inaguration and visited him in the white house. It doesn't seem like a very republican thing to do. Is someone assuming he would support a party that discriminates against his race simply because of the tax cuts? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.48.249.198 (talk) 23:37, 2 July 2009 (UTC)
Misleading list
[edit]As it is currently organized, this so-called "List of African American Republicans" is grossly misleading. With links like Black conservatism at the bottom of the page, it clearly is implying that all African-Americans on this list are conservatives. They are not! There is a clear difference between the modern conservative Republican Party and the nineteenth Radical Republian Party to which Ida B. Wells, Booker T. Washington, and others belonged to. This list needs to be sorted and arranged by century -- if not by decade -- to let people know the truth of the matter. I sincerly doubt that Ida B. Wells would be a Republican if she were alive today. StudierMalMarburg 14:36, 15 March 2007 (UTC)
"African Americans"?
[edit]Most of the people listed are not from Africa, they're from America only. I realize that Democrats tend to label people based on where their ancestors came from, but Republicans are less inclined to do so. Since this is a Republican list, we should either delete the article (what's the point of it anyway?) or rename it to something less discriminatory like "Black Republicans".Readin (talk) 04:04, 4 March 2008 (UTC)
- If we were to rename it in the spirit of what Republicans call black people, I don't think it would be very appropriate... Xizer (talk) 01:00, 4 August 2008 (UTC)
- How about we just rename it so we don't cause offense by suggesting black Americans, born and raised in the United States, with all known relatives in the United States, are African? Readin (talk) 15:23, 12 June 2009 (UTC)
- by "spirit of what Republicans call black people", i assume you're referring to the "n word." by that logic rappers are all republicans. Davdet (talk) 13:04, 9 August 2009 (UTC)
- Also this list exists because black Republicans are very rare. Refer to my statement above. Xizer (talk) 01:01, 4 August 2008 (UTC)
- Since there's a "List of African American Republicans", why isn't there a "List of African American Democrats"? Or a "List of European American Democrats" and a "List of European American Republicans"? Tanner65 (talk) 03:22, 5 September 2008 (UTC)
