Nagasaki
[edit]In spite of the citation, I think it is unlikely that 1928's "Nagasaki" was first recorded by the Friar's Society Orchestra (AKA the New Orleans Rhythm Kings). They were not in business in 1928, and the only recording of "Nagasaki" I have been able to find by this band was from 1935. Perhaps the book was in error, or the citation was used inappropriately. - Thanks for the correction. I don't have the original source at hand at the moment, but Jazz Standards on Record seems to agree with you, listing The Ipana Troubadours as the first performer. Indeed, Friar's Society Orchestra only appears on the list in 1935 (twice). I'll change the article text accordingly. Jafeluv (talk) 09:39, 1 September 2012 (UTC)
I don't normally touch these decade articles, but I started this article and think it's notable enough for mentioning in 1926 here.♦ Dr. Blofeld 19:18, 14 March 2017 (UTC)
