Page for Lisa
[edit]I don't have the time right now to formally create (and defend) a page for Lisa, but she was notable, and I want very much to put together her bio page. She was a master of social media, one of the strongest voices for medical research into malignant breast cancers, and influenced the lives of hundreds of thousands through her blog and twitter accounts. The crown of her notability was the dustup regarding the New York Times, and the ultimate question of what it means to live with illness and die with dignity.
Some notes include:
- her NYT obituary, http://www.nytimes.com/2015/03/10/health/lisa-bonchek-adams-dies-at-45-chronicled-fight-with-breast-cancer.html?_r=0
- HuffPo on Keller controversy: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/01/13/bill-keller-cancer-victim-op-ed_n_4588454.html
- Keller's piece: http://www.nytimes.com/2014/01/13/opinion/keller-heroic-measures.html
- New Yorker coverage: http://www.newyorker.com/culture/culture-desk/tweeting-cancer
- Emma Keller's original Guardian piece: http://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2014/jan/08/lisa-adams-tweeting-cancer-ethics
- Emma Keller resigns from Guardian: http://www.poynter.org/news/mediawire/249191/emma-gilbey-keller-has-resigned-from-the-guardian/

I have read many remembrances of Lisa recently, but it honestly hadn't hit me to think of a Wikipedia page for her until I saw her name on the list of recently deceased. In red. --Brad Patrick (talk) 14:22, 12 March 2015 (UTC)
More info on her writing
[edit]Considering that Adam's claim to notability was her writing and social media presence, there is basically no coverage of that on this page. If anyone wants to expand this article in the future, I'd suggest looking more into what Adams posted. ForsythiaJo (talk) 20:15, 7 April 2023 (UTC)
