[edit]This still seems to have large sections of copyvio text from http://www.upn.com/shows/all_of_us/lisaraye_mccoy.shtml 24.17.48.241 19:36, 5 December 2005 (UTC)
Sources
[edit]Prior to my edit, the only source given for this article was the biography for McCoy on imdb. Imdb is a reliable source for very limited information: film credits. Everything else is essentially a wiki. - Mdsummermsw (talk) 15:16, 18 March 2008 (UTC)
Well then what do you suggest for another source this is getting ridiculious. I've also seen her on t.v. interviews talk about her heritage it's hard enough finding anything about a person full ethnic background even if they have a little African American. She has clearly spoken about having Native American heritage before.Mcelite (talk) 15:41, 18 March 2008 (UTC)mcelite
She was in Tupac's video for Toss It Up. That should be mentioned on here. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.231.127.218 (talk) 01:31, 10 April 2008 (UTC)
Writing
[edit]The writing for this article is inconsistent. For instance, in some sentences you have the titles for movies italicized and in others it is in quotes. I would suggest doing one or the other... the reader should be able to understand what type of media it is based on how it is presented. --198.151.13.10 (talk) 15:04, 25 July 2008 (UTC)
Also, I just looked it up and the punctuation around the quotes is wrong too. Don't feel too bad because I messed that up myself. --198.151.13.10 (talk) 15:08, 25 July 2008 (UTC)
Birth year?
[edit]IMDb says it's 1966, as does the Wikipedia entry for September 23. The page info box says 1967. Watman (talk) 11:02, 23 September 2011 (UTC)
- Some reliable sources say 1966, others say 1967. Need to keep both listed as we can't know for sure which is correct. Geraldo Perez (talk) 02:31, 14 October 2016 (UTC)
- Glancing at the sources, at least some are not reliable, and the use of unreliable sources looks to be a problem in the article as a whole.
- The policy here is WP:DOB. She's clearly notable, so I wouldn't expect concerns about privacy. If she's made statements about her privacy then we need to be more careful. The Sheknows.com interview, where she gives her age, seems to be enough to set aside privacy concerns.
- Since she was born in Illinois, her birth record may be unavailable. I'm not sure what other record to look for.
- I've removed at least most of the unreliable sources related to this. I've not paid attention to which sources say which year. Anyone want to break it down? --Ronz (talk) 16:05, 23 July 2017 (UTC)
- Skimming the sources, is she saying 1966 consistently? --Ronz (talk) 19:58, 24 July 2017 (UTC)
As of September 2017 LisaRaye is 50 years old she recently celebrated her 50th birthday confirmed through social media she turned 40 in 2007 which makes her accurate birth year 1967. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2605:6000:8947:cf00:a583:38fd:ba6d:399d (talk • contribs) 18:49, 24 September 2017 (UTC)
- Thanks for joining the discussion. First, please provide sources. Second, since we have contradicting, reliable sources, it's unclear how best address the situation. If you'd review WP:DOB and discuss your perspective in that context it would help us settle this. Thank you. --Ronz (talk) 19:09, 24 September 2017 (UTC)
