Recreated article

[edit]

I restored this article that was speedily deleted by User talk:NJA as it confirms to WP:music for the following reasons:

  • Has been the subject of multiple non-trivial published works whose source is independent from the musician or ensemble itself and reliable.
  • Has been the subject of a half hour or longer broadcast across a national radio or TV network.
  • Has won or placed in a major music competition.
  • Has become the most prominent representative of a notable style or of the local scene of a city; note that the subject must still meet all ordinary Wikipedia standards, including verifiability.

Most of these claims still lack references, as I am well aware of, but I have added a second article from a national Mongolian tabloid to that of Reuters, so that the first criterion should preclude this article from being deleted. And one thing about the speedy deletion: while I have edited this article to some degree (grammar, a few references, a reference list, wikipedia latinisation of Mongolian), even its former version contained so many claims to notability that this article has never been eligible for SPEEDY deletion. Recent fixes

[edit]

Hi Latebird! Do you have evidence that Gereltuyaa -> Gerlee instead of Gereltuyaa -> Gegeenee in this specific case? G Purevdorj (talk) 22:41, 10 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

That's what Reuters says, which may or may not be correct, of course. --Latebird (talk) 22:49, 10 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
It is not precluded that both are correct. If indeed correct and in use, Gegeenee would probably be a more intimate form, but I'd ask from a native speaker if I really needed to know. For the current purpose, relying on the referenced info is certainly the best way to go. G Purevdorj (talk) 00:10, 11 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Yatga

[edit]

Yatga was introduced into pop or rock by Soyol Erdene in the middle of the last century. :) Gantuya eng (talk) 11:40, 15 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Lipstick (Mongolian band)Lipstick (band) – The Mongolian band is the only band with this name with an article, so the article title should use the simpler disambiguation. ShelfSkewed Talk 16:18, 21 June 2011 (UTC) Support looking at the history this page was originally at Lipstick (band) but was moved here and became a dab page due to the fact that there was a all girl Brazilian Rock band of the same name. This however happened in late February of last year and no article for that group has ever been created. So unless someone plans to create an article for that band soon there is no reason not to move this page.--76.66.180.175 (talk) 04:22, 22 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
