Chemical structure

[edit]

I believe the structure needs complete stereochemistry. See http://www.chemspider.com/Chemical-Structure.7981411.html--ChemSpiderMan (talk) 02:09, 14 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

In addition to needing complete stereochemistry the given IUPAC name states configuration of the two double bonds as "E" but in fact they are "Z" which is correctly reflected in the given SMILES, but not in the drawn structure. Since I do not have the needed software "ChemDoodle" I cannot correct the structure myself, and changing the IUPAC name to the correct one without changing the structure doesn't make sense to me. Maybe somebody can help. Krakatit (talk) 12:12, 26 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@Krakatit: I have updated the chemical structure image to fix the double bond geometry and to add full stereochemistry. I have also updated the IUPAC name. Please check that everything looks correct and consistent to you now. -- Ed (Edgar181) 12:25, 26 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
@Edgar181: Thanks a lot for updating - the name is okay now, and the structure in the biosynthesis pathway is correct in showing "Z" double bonds, but I still see "(E)" or trans double bonds in the chemical structure in the box at the upper right of the page in the chembox. In the chembox it also doesn't show the (2S,3S)-stereochemistry in the oxetane ring. Krakatit (talk) 15:24, 26 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
The file has been changed and the old version no longer appears for me. I think maybe your browser is showing you a cached version of the page.
